Heavy swearing just means that people have no other way to express themselves. If those people were to actually learn the english language, there would be about 5 different words for many different similar attitudes. Some of us use them because they get our point across more thoroughly, and also give certain nuances to exact feelings. Writers don't get published for using the F-word 35 times in 2 pages.

I asked my Dad where he got that saying from. He told me it's something General Patton said during WWII.
I am not allowed to be happy for more than a half an hour. Otherwise strange things can happen.

I mean, they are just words. I know I don't have to use them, and sometimes it's really inappropriate and I don't. Simple, but it's what I choose to do.
Meaning, you know that cursing is offensive, you know that is considered wrong by the majority and you agree with them aswell, and you still do it? That just shows you don't care. Generally speaking, you could say that someone like that is choosing to be a rude, rather than use class and wit to get their point across.

Everyone has been through that phase where they thought swearing was cool. Maybe not EVERYONE but I could say atleast a large majority. How long it takes a person to outgrow this ridiculous habit is beyond me. We were young, and we didn't know how to express ourselves at the time, so we went to swearing. If you really think about it, it could be almost be considered aceptable...when we were 10. Forum posters here have to be atleast 13, but most active forum members are somewhere around 15. You're in highschool, or atleast Jr. High. You've learnt so much throughout the years... in real life you need to apply(sp?) it. Using your brain in life helps you gain respect. Example:

You just got a new job, first week of work you have a supervisor watching you. You're carrying a heavy box across the room. Suddenly, you drop it and it falls directly on your foot and it stubs your toe. You scream:

        A) "AWWW F*CK MY F*CKING TOE"
        B) "OH MY GOD!"

Which makes you sound more intelligent? It's obvious, God might not be the best word to chose either, since it is considered by some to be rude to use God's name in vain. But this is just an example. What would the supervisor think of you if you said A? What would the same supervisor think if you said B? There can a be huge difference.
Ananana: Girls are so complicated. That\'s why I\'m not a lesbian.
        Anuj: Marry me Karen XD
Anuj: omfg somebody suck my wee wee >.<

I use "Crap" a lot. Mostly because I have a Cockatoo, and I find it on the floor every 15 to 30 minutes.

yeah, bad example healingvision, I know that at least I would fine B worse than A. Because for us religous folk cuss words are just vulgar, whereas the Lord's name is holy (sorry, not trying to drag yet another CT thread into a relgioius debate, just think there was a better 'B' option you could have thought of to express your point)

I actually think the forums should be uncensored, but those who abuse this right should be warned, banned, in the normal fashion. Because there are connotations for certain words, which other synonymns might not embody. Like CMC said, damn can be used literally in lots of instances, as well as f*ck...there are certain connotations with F*ck that "sex" or "consumation" just don't have. Also, i know for many Dutch people (such as myself) where sh*t is just as acceptable, if not more so, than crap. So there are cultural differences that come into consideration as well.
I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.
              Done, and done.

so as long as you don't go into bursts of obscenity, then no censoring? That seem right?
