Re: Vertex Beta vRofl thread - post here if you qualify
Dossar, you honestly don't get how much it will affect you to play for a full 24 hours. I know your stamina is really good, but it will not keep up with playing files with enough TPS to make it for the full day. It won't stay perfect throughout the whole day. To be honest you're being ignorant. This isn't even accounting for other things, like necessary breaks, eyes hurting/not focusing, etc.
Don't be all "well lol you don't know anything, you never play as much as I do."
I played for 6 hours in the official competition for this. I left because I knew it was impossible to make it, knowing that is will only get worse. Plus I've played vibrating files for hours on end without breaks before.
I'm not saying it's impossible. You just need to realize how difficult it would be, even for you, and prepare yourself knowing that.
Also, +1 for Haku getting vrofl.

Instead of debating about how Dossar could or could not keep up over time, you guys should try to figure out a way to "optimize stamina/playing" for long time period of time and when/how to take breaks and still being efficient in time or whatever concept you can come up with..
I mean, if Dossar can do it, he will do it. If he can't keep up after 10+ hours or if something happens like a plane crash in his house and he must stop playing well, it's life.

I'd actually love to see if Dossar could do it, since I consider him to be one of the more stamina-heavy players out there. But even at his level I can't fathom being able to play songs like that with the necessary PA or TPS to hit 1.5 billion. I've always been of the "challenge the impossible" type of mindset, but I feel like without vROFL to pointwhore from, this isn't a realistic goal.Comment

This is already well-known -- it's just a matter of knowing how to posture yourself, how to hold your hands, how hard to press, and what kind of hand movements/arrow patterns contribute to the least amount of stamina-drain.Instead of debating about how Dossar could or could not keep up over time, you guys should try to figure out a way to "optimize stamina/playing" for long time period of time and when/how to take breaks and still being efficient in time or whatever concept you can come up with..

Needless to say, it would still be ridiculously hard haha, I'd need a good connection with the full time frame if I were to ever try this.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

No, what I mean is that it's just a matter of finding the lowest possible energy output you can muster while meeting your goal. Anything that deviates from that is making it harder on yourself.
The important point, though, is knowing when to take breaks -- and it's not always "when you get tired." It takes a lot more time to recharge after you've depleted than it does when you're on the brink.Comment

Does it takes less energy to slowly quad mash with autofail 1 miss? No, what I mean is that it's just a matter of finding the lowest possible energy output you can muster while meeting your goal. Anything that deviates from that is making it harder on yourself.

Does it takes less energy to normally play a file you can do well with high TPS?
Can you still do well on that X file after 10+ hours?
Should you take short breaks? Longer ones?
Should you eat salmon or some fish food that may motivate your brain to actually function more properly?
Should you go to a gym and try to get more in shape so you don't collapse due to my general health condition?
Should you re-invent the universe before making an apple pie?
I didn't knew you secretly loved me that much.Last edited by Hakulyte; 06-25-2011, 09:34 AM.

I stopped cow milk and went to soy milk which improved my concentration and given me the ability to AAA FMOs. So yeah, simple things does matter. An accumulation of tons of simple things like this may lead you to absolute world domination.

You're correct, but what I was referring to was mainly the playstyle. Obviously you want to hit as light as possible and with minimal hand strain -- that will be constant no matter how long you play for. But the other stuff you mentioned, absolutely.Does it takes less energy to slowly quad mash with autofail 1 miss?
