You're supposed to get it for the huge damage it gives, not so much the lifesteal.

The extra crit and attack speed kind of nullify that, don't they? And if I was just after damage, why wouldn't I just get another Infinite Edge?

because a full farmed bloodthirster is more damage than a IE
protip: (notbeingadick) unique passives [such as IE 250% crit damage] dont stack so 2 IE's are worthless
my build for xin typically went:
          merc treads
          sword of the divine
          black cleaver
          blood thirster
(BIG MAYBE HERE, ONLY IF YOU ARE ROFLSTOMPING) get sword of the occult
          then maybe some armour/magic resist

I'm aware the passives from IE's don't stack lol. That's why what I was suggesting was ridiculous. Sarcasm didn't translate well, I guess. What I forgot was that the Bloodthirst gets more and more damaging as you farm.

I really think you're going to want some more attack speed than just a sword of the divine to take advantage of Xin's self-healing ability and you have no crit in your build which I consider a major part of mine. I've experimented with using the sword of the divine instead of one of the dancers but I didn't like the lack of crit. Building any armor seems contradictory to the playstyle of an assassin, since I want to build as much dmg as I can to fulfill my role. I never use occult/soulstealer because they are completely dependent on being fed.

Unless you are 100% certain you're going to get a kill every time you go for one, building glass cannon isn't the best idea. Even if it's just a chain vest and negatron cloak (1440 gold for 40~ armor and 48 mr) it'll give you a LOT more survivability.

Also, don't base ideas entirely off of co-op vs AI. Incorporate them into 5v5 games and adjust them until you have something that works consistently.

                  Re: League of Legends

The trick to builds is understanding two things: the mechanics of the game and strategy.

You have to understand what each item gives you, and what each stat is used for in specific circumstances.

For example, if the enemy team doesn't have crowd control to stop you, you can afford to build a little bit more power over survivability so you can output as much damage as possible. However, if the enemy does have crowd control, focus fire will kill you instantly, so you should build survivability in this case.

If you're a newb to the game, don't worry about all of this. Just go with standard builds that the level 30's tell you, and try them out to get a feel for them. Once you reach get enough experience you'll be able to judge for yourself how each item synergizes with specific strategies. Maybe you'll even grab that one oddball item that wins the game (has happened to me plenty of times).

                    Re: League of Legends

I am aware that I need a LOT more experience in pvp. I generally dislike pvp because 99.999% of players are douchebags.

My major issue with building survivability over glass cannon is that I feel that if I only use one of my item slots for more survivability, it won't make any difference as far as how easily I'm killed and I'd be better off maxing dmg. But then if I devote too much space to survivability then I can't kill my enemies. So I've just been building glass cannons and if I find myself in a situation where I'll probably die, I dash to the weakest guy I see and try to take them out with me.

I do understand a few differences that the opponents bring to my build. Such as if there are tanky opponents I'll usually try to build a madred's bloodrazor somewhere. I haven't seen much dodge being built but naturally if there is I'd build a sword of the divine.

My problem is that I'm lvl20 but I'm newbish because I hate pvp and barely ever play it, and when I do it's with my friends who are lvl30 and I get raped by the lvl30s we end up playing against. I'm only 19-14 in pvp but most of my competition has played hundreds of matches so I'm just outdone by a lack of experience. I feel like I missed out on playing lower level opponents.

playing with experienced friends has its pros and cons

pro- ur gonna learn a ****ton faster (probably) skip entire phases of bad habits and terrible play and generally end up a better player in the long run (read: happier player)

cons- its ****ing torture for the first 100 games but w.e no pain no gain

Chaz you should queue with me. I am actually a pretty good teammate to play with, attitude-wise, and I'm above your level but not so much that you'll get matched with people who have 500 wins. I make it a point never to make hopelessly vague criticisms or take out my frustration on teammates who are playing poorly.

If you want to play sometime, my in-game name is AlfredIV.

How are you only 19-14 in pvp at level 20 x.X... oh well if you want to play with someone lower level I'm only lv 20, in game name "unknown444", I'm in the same boat with all my friends being level 30 with 200+ wins.
