Re: Amateur FFR Scores!

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
Hey Ghost, I noticed your sig says your best AAA is the Dream of Scarlet. Hardcore, that song is no joke! I should do a few runs of it later. You asked me how I'm so good, but hell I don't think I could AAA that :P

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
The only easy thing about Dream of Scarlet is that it's just over a minute. I just went and got the AAA but there was some dicey stuff at the end that had me scared.
Nice Martian Hell. That ending looks mean X_X

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
Dear Amateurs Rising Players,
We understand that the main goal of this thread is to get some acknowledgement from other players with similar skills but please don't be intimidated to post in the FFR Scores thread. Most of the upper tier players are focused on improving their ranks, so when they see your scores they are likely to acknowledge it but not show it by posting. Don't assume that all upper-tier players are like that.
I personally feel that the existence of this thread is centered around the fact that many people (especially upper-tier players) are playing for ranks and to try and minimize their average ranks as much as possible. The reason being is that with relatively low ranks, these players tend to "ignore" your score (based on how well you rank among other players). But the FFR Scores thread is open to the entire community to get some acknowledgement, ranging from a simple glimpse at your SS to a post saying "Nice score." You all really do deserve as much acknowledgement as we do because you worked as hard as we do on our scores.
I don't want the community to be separated like this. I'm trying to think of suggestions to remedy this issue, but that would require changing the mindset of all upper-tier players in how they view this game themselves. Unfortunately that is impossible, so my next idea is to encourage all of you to join us in the FFR Scores thread. Who is telling you to post in the "Amateur Scores Thread?" You guys are certainly not amateurs in my eyes (more like "rising" players). All of us have been in your position before, but if you keep on playing, one day, you'll be AAAing upper level songs like us! I encourage all of you guys to keep up the good work and join us in the FFR Scores thread.
Yours truly, Wilson.
tldr: Please come back to the FFR Scores thread ;_;Comment

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
The main reason I posted them here is cause I saw others do it too, really. I felt like bandwagonning was a good idea for some stupid reason. One thing I don't see clear with the OP is what is considered a score that should be here. Is a 9 AAA too high? Cause there's a big difference between a player who can just FC 9s and one who can AAA 9s.Originally posted by HazelleJust know that it's not just you. I'm not sure if you felt personally attacked.Comment

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
Completely understandable, but realize that the FFR Scores thread is open to any score regardless of difficulty or your performance. The FFR Scores thread is there to celebrate personal accomplishments you have achieved throughout the countless hours of work dedicated to getting better at the game. Any score is acceptable in that thread. Of course you will have elitists who may discourage you, but please keep in mind that no matter what they say about your score, be proud of your accomplishments. That's what it really matters about in the end.The main reason I posted them here is cause I saw others do it too, really. I felt like bandwagonning was a good idea for some stupid reason. You don't have to celebrate those accomplishments in an "amateurs score thread." That's ridiculous. It's like inviting only A+ students to your graduation party. The point of a graduation party is to celebrate the countless of months spent working to achieve grades that you are satisfied of. Anyone is welcome to celebrate your graduation with you, not just the A+ students.Last edited by iironiic; 05-6-2011, 08:56 AM.Comment

Re: Amateur FFR Scores!
Putting everyone into the same scores thread is more like inviting the whole school to the same graduation party, including students who aren't graduating. This thread represents a nice middle ground scenario, not an alienation scenario, and the constant requests to get rid of it (which are ALWAYS from people who can clean FC FMO+ and NEVER from people who can't) are giving me some really weird vibes. It's as if we're being told over and over again that we won't be walked all over in the other thread specifically because certain pros need the gratification of walking all over us (which doesn't always take the form of verbal abuse or having our scores ignored, btw). This thread is almost 100 pages in spite of the fact that comments like this started only 9 posts in. I don't want to find myself on the receiving end of one of ap's "liberal bans" for getting too involved in another argument, but these comments are passé enough to toss on the spam pile. Can we move on?You don't have to celebrate those accomplishments in an "amateurs score thread." That's ridiculous. It's like inviting only A+ students to your graduation party. Not just a BF... a sightread BF. I normally can't AAA any 9 after many tries, let alone new 9s after one try. I'm hoping this signifies a skill jumpOriginally posted by m0dethat blackflag...
you'll get it!
