Maybe you're colorblind.

The flash of color left over from staring at the image makes the castle appear colored correctly, even though it's b+w. You have to 'burn' the castle negative into your eyes first though.

The image should NOT be colored. Staring at the dot in the center causes colors to appear in focus when there's none there.

This honestly surprised me. My eyes are terrible, and I often have trouble discerning black from blue. And not just dark blue either. First try though.
