    2) More seriously, if you can't cite a source don't cite one at all. It makes this page look worse then most wikipedia articles.

            Actually, it is sign. It isn't ASL, and nobody is expecting an ape to learn ASL, but it's sign language. Deaf people won't recognize what apes "speak" because they aren't speaking the SAME sign language. ASL is only one sign language, and there are as many sign languages as there are people who can make up some symbols to mean stuff.
