one hour and a half, over a 6 month period. let's just be nice and say I've played 5 hours of index stepmania since I quit back in october

that's 300 minutes

6 months rounds off to about 180 days

which is about 1.6 minutes per day

I play approxximately 1 hour a day normally, sometimes more, sometimes less. Once and a while, none.

1 hour is a whole lot

I played stepmania about on average 15-20 minutes when I played it, but usually 15.

I had very little musical experience before stepmania so I guess you're in the same boat as I was

either way arguing about time is stupid

If you ask me, time spent playing shouldn't even be a factor in how good a score is. It's the score that counts... how much you have to put into the game to get it shouldn't even be relevant. So maybe someone puts less time in and has more natural talent than someone else, well hooray for them, that's great. But the focal point should be the actual accomplishments that come out of it.

yeah basically that's the mentality I use when I play o2jam

I figure these players that beat my ass play 24/7 but I don't even factor that in when they beat me, because the best o2jammers are looked up upon because they can win money with their skills, not down upon

Who cares how long it took you to play. And the fact that you rarely play now means nothing. I play like 1 hour a week. Does that mean I'm getting worse? No... Once you get to a certain point you don't really get worse unless you stop playing completely for a long ass time.
You always make excuses Arch or try to put down their scores if they are near yours or beat yours because you don't wanna admit someone could have done that without actually talent and it was all based on something like whoring, playing all the time, etc.
OMG. I got that score a year ago!. Wow me and Reach got AAA/near AAA k8107 what? 16/17 months ago? Does that mean if someone posts a low AA on it we say Wow that's pretty good, etc. but I can fucking destroy it even though I did it super long ago and thus you have no talent? No.

The last time I tried Quasar 1.6 I couldn't beat that..I tried back when I got the 57 perfects or so on Quasar 1.5..I still probably can't beat that anyways because it's a real stamina tester for me.
I could try in a little bit but you probably have me beat though, haha.

EDIT: Just so confusion isn't created..I couldn't beat what you posted..I got about 8 combo breakers and a bit over 10 greats with MA over 100 =/

I'm going to be trying it out in a bit though..so yeah, you still got me though I'm guessing, just as I said before. =(

you could do it, it just depends how much of a warm up you have before you try it

back when I played stepmania a lot (like 20-30 minutes a day in june), if I hadn't had a warm up before I did it I would have failed the song, which is where the "hur hur I'm a faggot arch can't do quasar 1.6" thing came in. I mean, I can do quasar 1.7 but the score is so sloppy (like a B) and it takes so much effort/time that it's not even worth it :<

if you could equal my score you obviously have enough stamina to be consistant enough with your timing to do quasar 1.6, you just didn't try it when you did

like if I loaded up stepmania right now and tried quasar 1.6 I'd probably fail it. but when I did it as a way to get that score on quasar 1.5 yesterday I got like 1 miss on it, I forgot how many greats (like 4 I think)
