Learning a language in school or college is a waste of time, IMO. So yeah, just go with Rosetta's Stone or whatever. Worked for my friend, apparently, and it was a lot cheaper and easier.

I agree. The language program, at least in the US, is complete ****. I don't know a single person, unless they had an affinity towards languages to begin with, that walked away knowing any language that they spent 12 years learning in school. From my own experience, they went so over and beyond drilling it into our heads that we had to memorize how to conjugate things, but Americans don't even know what a pronoun is, so how are we supposed to know how to conjugate a word into the "past perfect" tense. They never even bothered teaching us the Spanish alphabet and never encouraged to carry a simple conversation in Spanish. Pure ****.

It's EXACTLY like that in Canada. Dropped French as soon as I could.
