They weren't going to get it. They were immediately eliminated because of BBC's Panorama programme, which alleged Fifa vice-president Issa Hayatou and two other officials voting on World Cup bids took bribes in the 1990s.

edit: The US made it to the finals.

LOL Qatar's average temperature is 120 degrees Fahrenheit. They have to invest millions if not billions of dollars to just the ventilation system for this event. Epic epic failure.

And England won't get a WC until at least 2030.

A lot of people on ESPN.com are saying Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom should leave FIFA and form a new football association.

I'm all for it. F*** FIFA and their selection process.

                        16 years.

UEFA (including England) won't qualify until 2030.
AFC (including Australia) won't qualify until 2034.

CONMEBOL (South America), CONCACAF (North & South America), CAF (Africa), and OFC (Oceania) will qualify for the 2026 bid. It will be highly unlikely that South America or Africa will get it due to the close proximity to their respectable previous World Cup (South Africa 2010 & Brazil 2014)

Can you imagine if WWIII was caused by the WC?

Goalkeepers at every border with strikers trying to get through the defenders.
