Listened to a few tracks by Stars of the Lid - I have to say ambient is the best musical experience ever. It is so much different from what's played in mainstream and what's normally listened to.
While I did like it, it just doesn't beat the post-nuclear atmosphere of Fallout's soundtrack. Like in My Chrysalis Highwayman, I can picture a gentle wind and the feeling of the sun's heat on my face while driving in the car through the radioactive wasteland. Then again, nothing wrong with liking something else.

oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a file
Having different tastes in music is a good thing. I hate when people try to force other people to like their kind of music and constantly bash other genres just because they don't like em.
cap'n jazz, jaga jazzist, and boards of canada are awesome
Ever listen to Kinsella's other bands? Like Owls, Ghosts and Vodka, American Football (over-rated compared to Owls imo but still good) and stuff like that? It's a lot less aggressive but the lyrics are pretty much matured-with-age and the music is good as fcuk.

in particular "even if you're never awake (deuxieme)" and "tippy's demise" are so awesome; check those two out if you havent heard them.
I accidentally left Coolio's "Fantastic Voyage" on repeat while I went out last night/this morning, so my last.fm is going to be allll ****ed up now Don't you hate it when that happens?

In the electronic music industry, much like every other industry, success never goes to the inventor, but to the exploiter of the invention. Illbient was coined by DJ Olive, who just happens to be a laidback, low-profile, soft-spoken kind of guy, and that does no good in a world where marketers like to take credit for everything. So big, boisterous DJ Spooky pushed him aside and claimed the genre for himself instead. The rest is infamous and pretentious history. The Turntablists like this one a lot....for when the beats just aren't slow enough, they want to bring them down to a crawl. Or a slither. Like a snail across a desert. Or like a music guide maker searching for a clumsy metaphor. Why? Because it's ILL, y0! Jesus, what a stupid word. Who comes up with slang these days, anyway? How did "sick", "bad" and "ill" become compliments? Before long, street kids will be going up to one another: "man, you are a ****ing asshole!" "hey, thanx dood."
I literally listen to everything (with the exception of most mainstream hip-hop rap **** but w/e). My favorites though are IDM, ambient, and metalcore.
