Re: FFR Scores
I know DP is nothing like CP. I never said it was. But rubix flat out getting 26 goods the first time was proof that if more accurate he could AAA it. Unless he is proven bs, then I don't see why it isn't possible now that he got 7-2-0-2. Seriously, he is proving theory wrong with a song being "impossible." Look at AJ AAA'ing Here We Go when no one else AAA;d it before. Look at Issac Passing Crunkstream ONI 1.2 rate? ON VIDEO AS WELL. EVEN I PASSED CRUNKSTREAM. Who knows!@? everyone has their own skill.Comment

Re: FFR Scores
I wish there was some kind of coaching/teaching system that would allow the average player with potential to not be left in the dark and being stuck into blindly repetitive playing that doesn't get you anywhere. I mean, when i see those kinds of semi-debates it's very clear that some people have a completely different understanding of the same game while others are left behind and i don't see many information/feedback about how to play efficiently on more complicated songs.Comment

Re: FFR Scores
Just play the damn game long enough
Here are my tips:
1. Get a good keyboard
2. Get a good computer
3. Warm up/cool down before/after playing
4. Don't rage
5. Keep trying like you don't care, otherwise you will get mental blocksComment

Re: FFR Scores
I played the game twice more than you and my current playing rate is higher than everyone on the site so, no there's more to it than just playing even if it is important. >:
Also, I do all of the above (no lag, decent laptop keys, there's nothing i can blame from the mechanics) the only problem is that under specific circumstances i cannot "solve" the patterns that i am facing from multiple reasons. I'm testing alternatives but having people with more serious experience about how to handle X situation would obviously be more constructive than my weird theories that doesn't work 90% of the time.
Also by example Rubix you mentionned pinky finger is rising while doing jacks. Is it the wrong way to handle them? How do you do Death Piano's jacks by example? Do you keep your elbows on the table when you place your hands to hit keys? etc.Last edited by Etylukah; 10-26-2010, 10:46 PM.Comment

Re: FFR Scores
Your physical structure is different from other players - that is, your pinky may just go up because it does, not because you're forcing it to. I've seen videos of players with their ring finger bent while they play, it's flexible and involuntary but just happens.
Find what's most comfortable for you.Last edited by DossarLX ODI; 10-26-2010, 10:47 PM.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

Re: FFR Scores
Etylukah: It depends. While there's no objective right/wrong position for particular patterns, there are certainly different flavors. Some patterns call for a sort of wristjack while others can be done with fingers alone -- when you get even faster, you need to start throwing your forearms into it as a way to "brace" the vibration pressures from your hand back against/into something.
Everyone does patterns a little bit differently, largely because they are habits that were formed when they first began playing that have not been changed much. Some people are naturally comfortable by extending their pinkies or fanning their fingers or tilting their wrists or flapping their joints or placing their thumbs behind their forefingers or making a fist, etc.
For me, personally, I do the DP dual jacks by wristjacking, fingers facing forward (the direction of my wrists is also pointing at an upward incline so I have some additional "flap-power" from the snapping). For the single-lined jacks, I tilt my hands and use my middle fingers. For the trills, I also tilt my hands and try to "tickle" the keys if it's a one-handed trill, but otherwise the trill is slow enough to just hammer out normally.Comment
