On topic though, I'm not sure how long I'll be around FFR specifically, considering that I am not playing anymore. If FFR gets up and running, though, I'd still be happy to lend my services. Otherwise, I'll probably end up taking my leave.

I doubt the site will shut down any time in the immediate future... these issues have been going on for over a year now, and the site is still here. Despite the lack of attention and mismanagement, Synth LOVES this site and all of you guys... I know 100% that he will do everything in his power to keep it running, even if nothing new is ever added. His love for the site is, imo, the major reason why the site was never sold... he just couldn't part with it, even when it needed to be set free.

What sucks is only a fraction of us try to make good use of the community, and care. The rest don't even take part. If the site shuts down is there anyway we can keep the forum?

I debated for a little on if I should post this. But I suppose it can do no harm at this point. This is part of a PM from synth that may shine a little bit of light on his side.

Contrary to popular belief, I have not abandoned the site but have shifted my focus away from the public view. Not a day goes by where I don't either hit the flashflashrevolution.com URL or log onto the server to tweak a service, update the system or try and keep things in check.

I have a number of burnt bridges that need mending if that is at all possible. I have only wanted the best for everyone here at every level but the outcome is always unpredictable. Always and oscillating mixture of highs and lows.

Over the past 2 weeks, I have been dealing with a number of hardware failures that have required hardware replacements totaling about $2500. This was the reason for the outage yesterday and the reasoning for recent issues with the simfile database. It's a complicated mess that I am finding a way to deal with but as you can imagine. Unpleasant.
