well that would be a good idea except for the fact, that on both ends there has to be the right hookup for the pc and the tv.

I know what each of the ends are, but i cant find the cable that does the job

By the way, HDMI and S-Video are pretty much the only options you have, inojokeyou.

I don't know what you want us to tell you. If your Acer doesn't have those ports, then you're not going to be able to connect your laptop to your TV.

what i need is a video/audio cable (red,white,yellow)composite, with the other end being a usb.

But I dont think they make those

That's a capturing device, it's only an input not an output.

At first I was assuming that she wants to go from TV to laptop. My link will work if that's the case. I then thought she wanted laptop to TV. This device will not work for that.

That's not the device you're looking for. You want to go from laptop to TV, right? That device will capture your TV output to your laptop.

It's only an input device. It doesn't do output, which is what you're looking for.

it has 3 usb,1 phone jack, and another slightly bigger phone jack..im sure its not what it is...but u kind of get the pic.

Are you absolutely positive that those are the only ports on your laptop? As the above bros said, I don't think there's anything you can do with just those.
