Re: World of Warcraft
Well, I quit WoW like 2 months before the release of WotLK and I'd like to know if anything in particular has happened in that time, i.e. is the gameplay still repetitive raiding or have there been differences?

Re: World of Warcraft
Uhh, the expansion pack came with tons of new content. An entire new continent with hundreds of quests, many new dungeons and several new raids. The achievement system never gets old.
The gameplay is whatever you make of it.Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
Holy ****, I don't log on for like 2 days and my guild falls the **** apart...
Like half the people left for another guild that is farther into 25 ToGC than us (despite the fact they have a reputation for being huge assholes...) and the other half went and formed another guild.
Oh, and some officer ninjaed the gbank, as always.
:/
I want to realm transfer or something now ;_;Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
Im sad to say I quit WoW.
Got boring being able to 3 to 4 shot people in PvP. Raiding is too easy. And pushing almost 10k DPS as a fury warrior on Ignis is like lolokthxbai.
I might come back when Cataclysm is released...

Re: World of Warcraft
bump because I am frustrated.
I changed my off spec to Discipline. We put together an 10Uld run earlier tonight, and we happened to have two pally healers online so I knew I would be on raid. We decide to do Kologarn which was fine with me. Perfect opportunity to test my new spec. Overall things went quite well. The enhanced shields and Soul Warding are awesome, and I love Divine Aegis. Can't forget about Pain Suppression and Power Infusion.
Now it's time for some ranting about how much Emberstorm PvP sucks.
I started doing AB last Friday. It was the daily PvP, and I'm trying to save up honor for new PvP gear. So far I have probably played 25-30 AB's, and have not won a single time. Literally not a single win. I still get honor for not winning, but not winning AT ALL slows the honor flow to a trickle.
HUR GUYS. Lets all follow that one mage away from Stables and kill it. How many Alliance ******s does it take to kill a Blood Elf mage? 7, apparently.
I can't figure out if I'm getting stuck with the same group of retards EVERY time, or people on Emberstorm just aren't PvP oriented >=(Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
I have the feeling that pvp was ruined in 3.2. On our battlegroup, the alliance wins every time now. They were winning a decent majority of the fights before, but now it's every one of them. Wintergrasp is unharmed from it, but all the battlegrounds suck now.Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
I have always wondered if everyone who does PVP feel this way. Does everyone complain that everyone else suck? Does this just mean that a lot of us do not know how to follow the objectives in the game, yet we complain about others about our own failures? Although I do occasionally complain about people sucking at battlegrounds, I can't help but feel that I make a lot of mistakes as well.

Re: World of Warcraft
*giggle* It's just funny to see this in action from someone who takes their evaluations of the game so seriously.
EVERYBODY on ALL servers on BOTH factions is POSITIVE that the other side has an unfair advantage in PVP.
I'm on alliance on my server and all you hear, all the time, is how horde is so much better at pvp, how the horde wins all the time. So on those grounds, your claim that "alliance always wins because of MECHANICAL CHANGES IN A PATCH" automatically falls apart because the exact opposite is percieved to be true on my server (meaning it's the people not the game that are the problem)
The best part though, is that if you go on to my server as a horde character, all you hear, all the time, is how alliance is so much better at pvp and how alliance wins all the time.
(And for reference, with both sides convinced that the other side wins all the time and has advantages, the last time I checked Archavon's journal, WG was split something like 1200/1150)Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
Read the stipulation. 3.2.
I'm not even saying they have an unfair advantage. It has nothing to do with class changes or anything. They made it so both sides now have to have a full queue before it starts. This means 30-minute queues.
Our battlegroup was basically "which team won't have the max capacity when the fight starts". It was perfectly balanced! Sometimes you'd be fighting 15v40 in AV and you'd lose and sometimes it'd be 40v15 and you win. So, you win some, you lose some. Not to mention that queue times we so fast that I couldn't even do a single quest between queues while leveling my druid. Nowadays, seeing a double-digit number is common.
As I had left off halfway completing Battlemaster for not wanting to grind reputation, which is being fixed in 3.3, I figured I'd go back in and try to get some wins. I queued. Many minutes later, I got in. We lost. Queued again. We lost. Tried later, we lost. Tried again, we lost. Tried another day, we lost. Tried the weekends, we lost. Tried after the weekends, we lost.
Bad sampling, I guess? Possibly. Or it might have been that I was asking these people who have been PVPing since the patch came out and they tell me we aren't winning anymore.
Wintergrasp is, again, a different story. Having a maximum of 120 doesn't affect our server at all. They don't force the teams to have equal numbers.
I don't know of a site where I can check the logs of battleground win/loss ratios. If you do, then show me. Wintergrasp does not count though.Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
I think the issue isn't any sort of actual imbalance in PvP Battlegrounds. I think the problem is "Way more people are PvPing, and that includes people who suck ass" So the general percentage of players in BGs who are actually -good- is slowly dropping. Then all it takes is a partial 5 or 10 person premade in an AV, or even just 3 or 4 guys in a vent for WSG/AB/etc etc and they have a MUCh larger advantage than they used to, since by and large, max-level PvP was made up in larger proportion of actual PVPers.Comment

Re: World of Warcraft
That's terrible sampling. You took 3 games that you played after each other and made a conclusion on an entire patch based on that. The best you can say is "the Horde loses on Thursday nights 3AM-4AM". To make an accurate statistic on loses, you'd need to play a lot of games across many battlegrounds and randomly choose a set of games to even make a conclusion. Even then, there are still problems with that sampling.
Asking other people who have been PVPing since 3.2 came out is not also a reliable method. For all we know, they could just be saying, "WE LOSE ALL GAMES" because that's the way they feel.

Re: World of Warcraft
I've said this a few times in this thread, but I'll say it again: when I played my alliance druid at, we lost every time in BGs. When I got my horde shaman up to 70, we won every time. Just depends on the battlegroup =)
