hard is ****ing easy, expert is ****ing impossible. but i'm hanging in there.

I have noticed that the gap between hard and expert is ****ing huge. In GH2 I can five star Jordan on hard but when I play it on expert I can only 3 star it. The same thing is in rock band. Panic attack's opening riff is easy since there are less hammer-ons and pull-offs, but as soon as you put it to expert you lose it.

In related news, I discovered both of my guitars somehow died without me using them, so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm doing my best to not splurge and get the badass wooden/metal strat. Have any of you used any of the Beatles-branded guitars available? Have any advice for a good, high quality guitar that doesn't cost 300 dollars?

I think you might be of a different opinion if the "one band" was one whose catalog you loved completely.

And honestly, I really don't get the idea of "do stuff because it's challenging," rather than the direct approach of "do stuff because it's fun." You know something that's challenging? Becoming a doctor. I bet it's way more challenging than a silly video game!

at least from my point of view things aren't fun unless they're challenging. i skipped hard mode for the most part on every instrument in rock band because i hated knowing that i could be doing it on a harder difficulty.

I got the Beatles.

It's definitely not hard (most songs would land between Tier 0 and 3 in RB2 standards for most instruments), but it's still really enjoyable.

The BG is really interesting to watch while playing. The songlist is...definitely subjective in terms of what you think is "good".

I'd recommend the game for Beatles fan. If you want something challenging to play, well then you're definitely not missing much.
