Doesn't that hurt in the arcade if you play barefoot?? I tried it because I was wearing sandals, and it hurt like hell because I kept on stepping on the metal knubs...

I wear converse...its kinda hard to play DDR with them since they stick so much...but thats why they invented BABY POWDER!!! XD!! yesh i put baby powder on the bottom of my shoes before i play......but they song that i usually mess up on with my converse would have to be MAx 300.......they can be little pains sometimes....^___^

Duffs.. don't remember what "model" of shoe they are, but they're very nice. Skater shoes of course if anyone actually doesn't know.
I play without shoes on my metal pad though, I need to buy new panels, 3 of them are cracked >_<

On the arcade pads its Vans and kangaroos all the way!!!(nice sock resistance) bbut on the foam pad its always socks....toe socks!!! :P

Never use shoes on a DDR pad at home, they break. I use Diesel shoes for DDR Arcade Style. ($270)

I used to wear converse but they fell apart (not from playing DDR) and the only other shoes I have are really uncomfortable so now i play barefoot. It really hurts when I stomp on the screws though. I think i just need new shoes........

I mainly use Skechers, the same I use for almost any other non-formal occasion. Tried it with Bostons (at least, I think they're Bostons) once, and I have officially come to the conclusion that DDR is not to be played as if you're going to an actual club. (After all, what we call disco was once club music.) This game is more like a workout than anything else, so bring your gym shoes.
