Just because someone's good at something doesn't mean that they have the authority to decide who else is good and who isn't.

And also, why is it always "guilty until proven innocent" (or J1 until proven J4) with SM scores? Are there people out there that really think someone would consistently doctor/fake their scores so a bunch of nerds will like them? I'll admit that there are people who must have doctored or faked scores, but do you really think that someone will try and build a reputation off of that? I don't.

First of all, I love it when people let me know how retarded they are by calling me stupid because of my post count or reg date or whatever else. You obviously missed my fucking point, and I'm not at all surprised. I never said that the OP didn't BS his scores. With the evidence against him, it actually sounds like he might have. What I said is that being good at something doesn't give you the authority to decide whether or not others are good at it too. Since you didn't catch on in my first post, why don't I give you an example. I'm really good at Mario Kart 64. I have all sorts of records, people would gladly suck my cock, or buy my N64 controller that I signed and put on eBay. I see someone on a Mario Kart 64 message board post their best time for Kalamari Desert, and it's only a few seconds shy of my record! Holy calamity! Well, since I'm so good, and this person is claiming to be almost as good as me, I obviously know for a fact that they're lying. It's an absolutely irrefutable fact. As soon as I say they're BSing, a bunch of people who admire me agree, by saying "well CW's really good, so he must be right!" Well guess what. It's a videogame. It's played by millions of people. Maybe this guy has been playing everyday since the game came out, but didn't realize there was a place to post his scores. Or maybe he was too timid to post his scores; he was a lurker type. Or maybe he never thought his scores were worth posting unless they were close to the seemingly unattainable scores that I have. Do you get what I'm saying? Probably not because lol my post count is like rly small!

There are too many ways to gain an edge in Stepmania, that even a total moron could utilize them (and they DO).

It's just like (okay kind of a shitty example but it's still an example) Counter-Strike. Also VERY easy to cheat, and people do cheat. Although it's not quite as common as people might think, believe me, it's there. And the very good players will be able to TELL if someone is cheating (in Counter-Strike it's sensationally more obvious, but that was just my example ). It's the EXACT SAME with
Stepmania.

It all comes down to your experience with the game.
