He abused a defenseless animal, and you're trying to lessen the magnitude of that? And you presume to know the cat's injuries? You also presume that the cat isn't severely mentally scarred? It seemed pretty clear to me that the cat had been tortured out of its mind and was basically resigning itself to death. To tolerate such a thing is unbelievable.

And he didn't just punch the cat. He repeatedly brutally and ruthlessly beat the cat out of its senses while shrieking with rage. The kid is sadistic, abused his power over the cat to abuse it, and did it with glee. This kid deserves no less than the same treatment, and you might consider getting educated about what getting beaten like that does to a being, if you haven't experienced it firsthand.

For what he has done, he deserves humiliation for the rest of his living days. Considering his full intent, I doubt anything will rehabilitate him, so I figure he should have the reminder of what he's done drilled into his brain.

If you want to know what's wrong with society, start with yourself. Shame on you for trying to lessen such a crime. It's this same garbage attitude of zero accountability that's helping ruin ****ing everything.

Look, people might think that this kid should be tried. I though it should. Until I watched it again. He didn't kill the cat or anything. People sign random online petitions just cause they felt bad. The kid, yes, did something stupid. But it's not the worst thing ever. Said the furry.

Wow, you paid a lot of attention to what actually happened. If you read what he wrote on the YT comments, it's not the fact he said the n word, it was the context he used it in.

No, it wasn't the worst thing in the world, but I'm pretty sure that the noises the cat were making were signs of how bad it was for him.

People have microwaved cats and not been put in jail. This, I'm afraid, is a pointless thread other than informing us that a kid abused his cat.

Signing the petition is meaningless. It won't help the kid get tried as an adult even if he well deserves to be. I'm not saying that he won't be tried as an adult, but this petition surely won't do a thing to affect the decision.

But think about it... so are we... if you don't like it, then go start beating yourself because we're the same. Just because we're so-called an "advanced" species, doesn't mean we should get to abuse it. Especially if it's a loving creature. But there is a limit to everything. The law will give him justice, and dusty is okay. What's stupid is that 4chan has started targeting his family now, especially his father's company. I find it ironic that 4chan makes fun of people dying all the time, but when one cat gets abused (not even dead), all hell breaks loose.

Hell there are people who abuse newborn children all the time. Give me a ****ing break.

I have no sympathy. Violence begets violence, and if this kid gets his just desserts, it's as a direct result of his actions. His parents have the responsibility of raising him, and they screwed up badly. They are now paying the price, a consequence of their actions and the actions of the child they raised. And "it happens all the time" doesn't make it any better. Rape happens all the time. Does that mean rape is okay?

I do respect you, so this isn't a flame, but regardless who is saying these things, it's not right to make these false conjectures and bad comparisons to try and alter perception of the fact that this kid is sadistic and all that is happening to him is because he not only abused a cat, but did it for fun, and posted it on YouTube so everybody could see what a swell guy he is. There is nothing he won't deserve for what happened to him.

Why do people think "oh worse things have happened," and then they think it doesn't matter anymore? Worse things have happened, yes, but that's all the more reason to be concerned. You should not compare this case to "worse" happenings in order to lessen the severity of the crime. A crime is a crime and he should be tried. The age limit doesn't have anything to do with fairness. It is not unfair for a 14 year old to be tried as an adult. What's unfair, is writing off this instance as if it doesn't matter, and saying there are bigger fish to fry. There will always be bigger fish to fry. With that logic, it's okay to do bad things as long as someone else has done worse things.

I think that's wrong. Being tried as an adult only makes it easier for him to be fairly tried. A child with a sadistic mind is no child at all in my eyes, regardless of psychology. Mentality is different from chemicals and anatomy. It has been said, but children like this are the ones that end up abusing real people later in life. The kid was an idiot. He posted it on youtube, for ****'s sake.

It's just an online petition, it probably won't go far, right. But it takes about 2 seconds to sign. Who thinks this is going to save the world? Hopefully no one. It's just a good cause. It's not trying to strip a child of his liberty. When he committed that act, he submitted himself to the justice system and all the punishment it has to dish out. Don't be ludicrous.
