I suggest Ray Bradbury, most people generally like him. If you're into the fast-paced science-fiction, I definitely recommend him (Except for Dandelion Wine, which I'm not saying is a bad book, it's just not as fast-paced as the others). The Illustrated Man is a series of very short stories, an easy read and easy to divide up into readable sections.
Nancy Farmer's books are also a very fast and easy read. The Scorpion House is simple, yet somewhat analyzable.
Catcher in the Rye by Salinger is short, a favorite of many (although banned at some schools for its language... so you might want to watch out).

I'll take a more thorough look at the list later today, but please don't read "Tuesday's with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. That was an absolute snoozefest.

I would have to suggest hitch hikers guide. I'm amazed that you can actually read that. Its entertaining, not to long, and it sucks you in.
