If it's in the USA, which it probably will be... I'll need a passport and such.

a passport works but i dont think you need one. when i went to canada all i needed was a copy of my birth certificate and my SS card. im pretty sure was all i needed.

i dont know about the other way around though.
you dont need a passport right now but sometime this year it's going to be manditory or else you wont be able to cross
If you're flying to Canada you need the passport, and it's really not to enter Canada, it's more for being able to come back into the U.S.
