I already commented on the video on Youtube, however, you're far too amazing at piano that I couldn't pass up commenting here as well.

            Re: Piano Etude Demonfire

at first I thought this was beyond godly, so I showed it to my Mom (who used to be a professional Piano player), so then she said "That's not hard, you could play it with practice, but what is beyond me is that he memorized the piece, that's what's so inhumanly impressive", so I bet her she couldn't play it, printed out the sheet music, gave her an hour to practice, and she played it really well, so then I asked her "I thought this was harder than Chopin and stuff?" And she laughed and told me it was no where near List or Chopin, if you want to play rev. Etude or any of Lists insane messes than good luck, but this is challenging, but doable

so congrats, I'm gonna try to learn it now!

Yeah it's not really that hard. A lot of my pieces are way harder - such as Chopin Ballades and Etudes. I know Destiny plays more difficult pieces too. It's just really cool and fun to play.

Yeah, there are much more technically difficult pieces out there (e.g. La Campanella or Hungarian Rhapsody No.2). Imo, Piano Etude is particularly appealing due to both the catchy melody and the natural association with rhythm gaming. It also allows more room for expression than most other transcribed synthesized songs. As for memorization, ten pages shouldn't be much of a task, especially if the player has had an extensive repertoire at some point.

La Campanella's insane! You can play that ieat? That's one of list's hardest pieces! The speed, the octave stretches, the "jacks" (don't think there is a piano term for that) and that right handed trill at the highest octave lasts FOREVER!! I could not keep that up for the life of me...

                    Re: Piano Etude Demonfire

I'm in the process of learning it. I've been experimenting with various techniques for managing the sizable octave stretches. So far, it seems that employing primarily rotation of the wrist is sketchy in terms of conserving energy, although it's more straightforward in practice (such as when trying to play at a high tempo). Some of the other methods, which serve to reduce tension in the arms and wrists, require an additional degree of concentration, but they're ultimately more effective, especially considering how important stamina is in a physically demanding piece like La Campanella.

I also went ahead and learned most of the first page of Piano Etude. It's pretty enjoyable to play, though I'll have to see what the more difficult parts are like before coming to any conclusions.

Wow, what a coincidence that you and your perma banned (now dead) rl friend damanwithdaskillz both happen to have a former professional pianist for a mother.

Sorry just had to point that out.

Awesome job Destiny! I'd like to see some people's versions in the future.

is cool, yeah, it is weird, Craig (redhead inferno) is aspiring to become a professional piano player, and his Mom's a professional violin player, and his sister is a professional cello player, we're a group of very musically inclined friends

I'm going to make a vid of a Chopin Ballade after I finish memorizing and learning it. Maybe some other stuff too. I was learning GGC, but my teacher wanted me to learn something more difficult and longer. So I stopped that. I learned most of it already, though.

Haha, I knew you'd eventually learn the full version. It was played amazing well considering how difficult this piece really is. Way too much fingers stretching, rofl.

Awesome job, Destiny. I take it that you're going to try PE Gymnastics next?
