I'm amused at how many of you have turned this into Wal-Mart's fault.

People have been injured in human stampedes anywhere there has been large crowds of people driven to a frenzy. Hell, at the high school I work at, students stampeded the hallways and injured three people. That was probably Wal-Mart's fault, too, though.

Also, the "lol black people" comments stop now.

edit: did anyone read the comments at the bottom of the article? They are more tragic than this man's death.

It's just a frenzy created by the popularity of certain items. There's a limited supply, and every parent must get THE toy of the season or CPS will come take their children away.

With their really nice electronics, I'm sure Wal-Mart did have some deals worth getting up early for. I'm not saying turning into a mob over a flatscreen TV is justifiable, but I'd probably punch anyone who cut me off if I was standing in that line.

that is freaking messed up. it was crazy at our walmart too, but there was very little pushing or cutting in line. people need to learn to behave themselves, and i hope those people who were at fault get prosecuted.

My local Wal-Mart was fine. The best part was their ad-matching, Office Depot had an ad for a 16GB flash drive for $30, but they were out. Over to Wal-Mart, show them the ad, and that $60 flash drive is mine for $30.
