You can try clicking "select all" when you right click on your mouse. It helps slightly.

EDIT: Paint won't work with this picture. Can you adjust your brightness?

Yeah, Paint would be somewhat ineffective. I guess I could direct you to a number of online photoediting places, but I think it's best if I just give you a hint to get you on your way (since you know how to get the answer already):
