lol good job. Well I know you will make the best choice. Don't think about what you are doing, if you really wanted to drop out you would have done it already.

Oh and your junior year is supposed to be your toughest year. Senior year rules dude.

Take electives. Take classes that spark a little bit of interest in you. I took psychology and it's freaking amazing.... so much so that I'm making A's on everything and the teacher wants to put me in AP, and I might just do it.

but anywho, just hold out. You never know what can happen. Journalism was fun for me last year, but we didn't DO anything.... we got a new teacher this year, and now I want to major in it. I love writing, I love controversy, and I love getting to miss out on class to film for the morning show and interview the administrators.

You apparently love welding, so stay in school for it.

I would never drop out of school. I have triple spares on Monday and Tuesday, double on the other days, and 95 credits not including this year .

You can't drop out of school until you are in the 12th grade here.
Regardless of that, it's a really bad idea IMO.

You're being an idiot, I'm sorry.

You say that you can't stand the rules that you have to live by while at school - seriously? I can't think of any rules that would have such a large impact on me that I would constantly feel bothered by it. No matter where you are in life, you will be operating under regulation - learn to live with it.

You really, really need a high school diploma if you want somewhere to hire you. Everyone has a high school diploma - if you don't, they won't even look at you. And living a life where you barely make enough money to press on is a lot more constricting than just two years of garbage rules at school.

Graduate. Do it with decent grades. Two years is nothing.

                      Re: Dropping out of school..

EnR, if you dislike the teachers and the classes so much, have you considered taking a bit of time to get an early look into some of the stuff you might want to do in the future? I know you've said welding, music, and astronomy, so how about visiting the library and getting a few books on the subjects in general and taking them to the classes to keep you at least a bit absorbed for the days? Your teacher's will probably complain, but if you can pick up and do the classwork and still feign some kind of interest in them, I'm willing to bet they'll let it slide.

(And I've never heard of a High School making Religion required, but then again, I'm in the US.)

College is fun and shouldn't be missed. High school may be lame, but tough it out and you'll end up the better for it.

EnR, don't. I know high-school is tough, but, hey. Life is hard. Get over it. It will all pay out in the end

I'd do anything to have my last two years of school back. The real world is harder and crapper than you think.

I dropped out and go to nightclass. Nightclass is like this, here at least: No homework, 4 classes, 1 class a night, school 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday, 7pm - 9pm, though they let us out a little after 8, math, science, history, english, earns a high school diploma.

Yes, I'm still disappointed I won't get to graduate with all my friends, but whatever, I still hang out with them.

People make dropping out sound like the worst thing, when in all honesty, I'm doing much better this way, I would have never passed normal school, pretty much dropping out was a smart move on my part. I went to school everyday, just talked and slept in school, I never did any work, or homework, I would write humorous stuff on the quizzes/tests to entertain the teacher, except for in math, because I really like math I actually did the quizzes/tests, but that's about it. I pretty much would have never graduated in normal school, I really wanted to do my work and stuff, I really did, but I couldn't push myself to do it, mostly because I had friends in my classes, I could resist talking. Now in nightclass, I don't exactly know anyone, and there really isn't any time to get to know anyone pretty much, considering I only see people an hour a week, unless I have multiple classes with them, and I'm doing really good in nightclass.

End of story, don't drop out unless you plan to alternately get your diploma, or get a G.E.D.
