I do this out of habit - ITG. "Guys, I star-star-starred Delirium!" Triple starred, or commonly, tri-starred. It's too chunky as "A-A-A", doesn't roll off your tongue.

I say it 'triple A', but when typing it out, I think it just feels more natural saying 'an' before a vowel. So I usually write 'I got an AAA' out of habit, even though it sounds wrong as a whole.

You are technically supposed to put "an" before AAA, only because it's an acronym standing for "Triple A". But I'm pretty sure you don't actually read the way it's technically spoken. So if you said I got an triple A, that sort of sounds wrong; if you said I got an AAA, that sounds a little more convenient.

The guy that got me into it said AY-AY-AY. I got used to it, but everyone I talk to says Triple-A, so I've started thuat.
