Versus is NOT multi-platform. Versus is a true Playstation Exlcusive.

However, Versus AND Kingdom Hearts 3 won't be released until after development of FF13 is complete for both systems. The PS3 version isn't done yet, and they aren't starting the X360 one until the PS3 one is 100% complete. BUT IT GETS WORSE. The PS3 version isn't going to be released until the X360 one is ready to be released, thus they will be releasing the same day THEREFORE The wait for FF13 is going to be R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. I honestly don't see this game coming out until 2010. Especially with Localization voice overs.

So that makes 2010 for for FF13 and 201? for Versus and Kingdom Hearts 3. THAT is why I'm so pissed at this announcement.

Not because of the exclusivity (even tho SE did say it was only for the PS3 in every trailer which is complete DICK to all the true fans that believed there deception) but because because of this stupid tied release date deal, EVERYONE has to wait longer for every game from Square Enix.

I'm not linking any sources because I don't have the time. But TRUST me. Everything I just said is 100% accurate and it ****ing blows for gamers everywhere.

And you know why this sucks EVEN MORE?!?!?!?!? New consoles, especially the Next-Next Gen Xbox will be releasing 2010 or 2011.

Here's a tip: go play some other games while you wait. Final Fantasy isn't the only game out there and there's no reason why anyone would be dying in anticipation of its release. Hell, I've played half the franchise while waiting for other games to come out.

Cry me a river. There are dozens of better games out there than Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, and handfuls of sequels for real franchises coming out. If you're so narrow-minded that you have convinced yourself there's nothing else worth your money other than Square-Enix games, then hell yes you're going to have to wait ages between games. That's one developer. Try branching out some.

Why the hell do you care that FF13 is coming to another console? Return the PS3. Sell it on eBay. Trade it in at gamestop. Go get a 360. Done. If you want to keep your PS3, then why do you care? The PS3 will run the game just as well as the 360. I really don't see what the problem is.

If you try to improve the tech, you're only going to make the new release cost even more than the PS3. We all found out that consumers aren't ready to pay that kind of price for a console.

They see the Wii as an industry shift that will lead to major change for the future.

And they say that if there's a "new" console coming soon it'll just be an update. Like a WiiHD, a Blu-Ray 360, etc.

I don't see what you're getting at with the "No box with controllers and discs, but they see the Wii as an industry shift etc. etc." If They see the Wii as an industry shift different from XBOX or PS3, it really doesn't make sense to me. The Wii is a white box that you insert discs into, and you have remote-shaped controllers. Although it is wireless and has a sensory system to pick up where you're pointing, it is still a controller-disc-box console.

It's not just the Wii. It's technology in general.

Why use a disc medium when you can use a download system?
Why make a new expensive box with untested hardware every few years (at a loss)?

And regarding the controller, I mean the typical 27-button controller. Most people feel like controllers for video games are too complicated. So controllers are going the opposite way. Having fewer buttons is now better.

How can the Wii not be an industry shift? The entire gaming industry is continuously relying on better and faster hardware and the Wii has gone completely against that. If they were able to be successful using less powerful and cheaper materials, then so can companies. I wouldn't doubt it if Microsoft or Sony decided to innovate on other aspects of a gaming console besides improving on hardware.

Goto Hiroshige has received PSX4 spec info from Japanese developer sources who received preliminary spec from SCEI for developer feedback(whom Goto refuses to name due to NDA).

* SCEI has sent rough PSX4 spec to 3rd party developers for feed back. Based on the description, PSX4 is a >Wii-tized PSX3, no more than 2X as powerful.
* SCEI wants to beat Xbox 3 to launch. 2011 is the deadline, or sooner.
* SCEI pulled all its engineers from IBM Texas, and there is no new CELL architecture being developed. PSX4 >will use same CELL architecture with improvements.
* SCEI will dump XDR and use standard JEDEC memory type(GDDR3/DDR3) for main memory.

During this time, Square Enix works on the port. Since the translation is just a soft patch over the text, this same patch can be applied to the 360 version when it comes out.

I know they aren't working on the port until the PS3 version is done! That's the whole point haha. PS3 FF13 releases in Japan when it's complete. The game is localized for both regions and then work begins on the port of the X360 versions. FF13 was built from the ground up for the PS3 using the RSX, the machines have completely different architecture. The White Engine that Square Enix is using in FF13 was built specifically for use on the PS3. The port isn't going to be a quick process. So that means the US and Euro PS3 version of FF13 will be sitting there complete but NOT shipped and sold in retail until the X360 version is ready to do the same. All of this because Microsoft paid square enix to hold the PS3 version and make both platforms have the same street date. This situation is similar to how GTA4 was treated. See how the US and European PS3 users are still waiting? That's the wait I'm talking about.

Actually, it's Final Fantasy XII at #32, although it doesn't really matter. I think FF12 should've been way lower. All it had was good graphics. Plot was simple and the soundtrack sucked. Kingdom Hearts is at an OK spot. It was all right to me. Square Enix needs to step it up a bit with their games.
