All instruments will work on all games including Rock Revolution.

PS new patch for ps3 gave ability to use GH guitars on RB and ability to export songs to the hard drive to use in RB2

You know, not to be a jerk about it, but once all bundles come out for Rock Band 2 for all systems, this thread is probably gonna die. I love Rock Band, but the new version will simply win over, as people will just start posting in there.

And for anyone out there who's interested, I pre-ordered Rock Band 2 bundle a few days ago. This means I don't hate Rock Band (I never did, I just thought Guitar Hero was better)

Yeah, this is as much about Rock Band the series as the Guitar Hero thread is about Guitar Hero series (rather than just GH the game).

Oh really? Sorry, I didn't know. I thought that it was out there maybe earlier because of the exclusive 360 launch today. Too bad only the game is being released.

Also, I talked about it with Gamestop yesterday, and they said that Guitar Hero 4's instruments were way better. They said that Rock Band 2's instruments looked really good, but Guitar Hero: World Tour's instruments actually made the game more realistic. And Guitar Hero 4 has song creator and GH Tunes.

But then Rock Band 2 has WAYYYYY more downloadable content (500+ songs by the end of this year) and online World Tour mode. Plus, they also have drum trainer, HD lag calibrate, Jukebox mode (you can listen to your songs, important, especially if you have a big library of songs, i.e. downloadable content), and flexibility of characters.

This is getting really confusing. I know everyone here in this thread will say to get Rock Band 2, but honestly, tell me what you think of this, because I already made a down payment on RB2 kit, but it's not too late to switch.

And here's 1 last point. In Game Informer magazine, it listed a few of the songs Rock Band 2, and none of them appealed to me. Does anyone know where I can find a full list of Rock Band 2's songs?

You know it's not a house or a car, right?

But dude, you could always do what I plan on doing. Get RB2 the game first, then get GH4 later (i.e., when it actually comes out). All hardware is supposed to be cross compatible, so you just need to make your choice for drum set, guitar, and mic. If you already have some of them from previous purchases (such as RB1 or GH3), you can save a little money, but really, the only TRULY differing factor is the drum kit. And I'd say that if you prefer drumming to the other ****, your drum kit of choice should be the RB2 one, if not the bomb-ass Ion premium kit. The GH drum kit only has 3 ****ing pads, and the cymbals are dedicated. That means all the different toms and snare are all relegated to ****ing 3 pads, while RB gives you 4 to spread the toms and snare out over. And the cymbals are weak sauce, because RB2 has the capability of cymbals too, you just have to get them separately (of which, RB2 has capability for 3 cymbals, compared to GH's hardlined 2 cymbals).

Really, the RB2 full set is only missing one thing to be COMPLETELY perfect. And that's a second pedal that can function as a hihat pedal. Sadly, this will never be for RB2, BUT they are apparently going to allow for double bass pedals, so at least that's something.

ps I had to work last night and I don't really feel like going out right now to get this. Even if I did, the store only just opened at 11, and I need to be asleep some time in the early afternoon so that I can get enough sleep before getting up for work tonight. But I have tomorrow night off, so I think I'll be picking it up tomorrow morning, come hell or high water. I'm just bummed that my Ion kit won't be here in time for it because I held off on placing me order for too long.

My ****ing tilt sensor doesn't work. It worked the last time I used it like a year ago, but it doesn't work now. I mean, I was planning on getting one of the new guitars anyway, but ****, that's like a month away at least. And I can't for the life of me find the "back" button while playing, so the only time I can activate star power that way is when there's a part with no guitar ****.

oh ps the opening was like "ok so there is BACKUP VOCALS NOW, RIGHT?" lulz lame... I hope they realize that they're missing the potential there.

Played RB2. Quickplay is almost exactly what I wanted.... exept they don't show how many stars you have.

Tour mode is fun, but too un-organized to find a song if your looking for a specific one. Plus they don't even show your highest score on the song in tour mode, just the number of stars you've gotten.

Mabey it's an unlock, but I'd rather organize all my songs by order of difficulty, and have it display the score and stars.

Speaking of unlocks, anyone find out the codes yet?

WTF I bought Rock Band 2, came home, AND THE XBOX IS BROKEN! There's audio but no video. I bought a new 3-pronged cable and it still doesn't work, and yes they are in the right places. DAMNIT! I'm going to have to buy a new one tomorrow. What a day for it to break! D=
