Anyway, went to the police station last night. They gave me this card and number. Went home and rang the police assistance number, as they told me. Spoke to this lady, and gave her pretty much all the details. She gave me this event number, and said that she'll give the people on duty a nudge to come over to my house that night, unless there is an emergency or important duty on hand.

So they didn't come.
And now I'm waiting the next morning.
Hopefully they'll be here by tonight.

PS: I heard that it's near impossible to get your valuables retrieved. If the criminal isn't already on the police list, then well... He's made a happy 40 grand in 15 minutes...

Earlier this year we had all of our Lawn Mowing equipment stolen, including the trailer. Together this was about $30,000 and a job used to rake in about 65% of our income. Whoever stole it ditched the trailer, and we got it back later that day. However, we spent months without money and food praying that we wouldn't have to sell our house. We already had a for sale sign up and the day somebody made an offer, the insurance company finally came through.

It makes me sick that whoever stole that **** from us just gets to keep it and make easy money instead of earning it, but I hope that even if you don't get your valuables returned, you at least get something equivalent.

Thank God they didn't touch your piano though. Destiny go on killing spree :O

Sadly the police most likely won't be able to do anything about this, even if they had all the information in the world pointing to who did it.

If I were you I would look around in the local pawn shops for any of your valuables that you recognize as yours.

I can bet you its someone who lives near you, so you could sneak into everyone's house around you and find your stuff.

Anyways this must really suck for you and your family, but at least they didn't do anything with the Piano.

The police came to our house 30 minutes ago. They did some inspections, some fingerprinting and things like that. Unfortunately, they said that they didn't have enough information and couldn't really do anything about the cash. I gave the police the serial number for my old phone (which above all else, is the one thing I don't give a crap about if I lose), and now I'm looking for the laptop and JVC Camcorder serial number. Once I hand those to the police, hopefully they can get those three things back.

Unfortunately, goodbye nearly 30 grand of cash and a hope to buy a new house soon...

Although I am rather confused. Why take the items that he did? The monetary stuff, I can believe. But if the thief was going to take your laptop, why not the computer?

That sounds horrible.

Really why did you have that much money sitting around.... I don't see any good reason for it. A savings account would be much better. And like the police said, they can't really do anything about the cash, so now you're screwed. If it were in the bank, or at least in valuables and not cash, that couldn't happen.

Yeah man I was robbed too.

We went to California for TWO WEEKS, and we left the house to the care of a guy named Charlie. Well, that was a retarded idea, cause when we came home, everything (EVERY****INGTHING) was gone. Anything that wasn't worth a whole lot was thrown all over the ground, so the house was utterly trashed. Also, there were pipes, bongs, and marijuana all over the place. What really ****ing pisses me off is that they stole 200$ (yeah I know not alot) that I was about to put into the bank. But I got that money from loving and caring friends who gave me money cause my mom had just died like 3 months before. So yeah, that was the worse time of my life, ever.

Don't forget to think of absolutely everybody that was in your house within the past month, two months, while, etc., and whether you were with them or not at the time. Could've been an opportunity for them to, essentially, stake out your place.

that's horrible destiny, I probably would have went on a manhunt myself if that happened. Check Ebay for some of that stuff too as I'm sure that whoever did this doesn't know any coin collectors so they'll try Ebay.
