just use pcsx2 (wich is almost perfect now and has lot improvements)
to play playstation 2 games on your pc
    pcsx2 is a playstation emulator.
you can get it from pcsx2.net,
the playstation 2 emulator can play iso files but also from the disk itself

I have the japanese controller and the 13th and 14th mixes and must say they are quite amazing. I'm not very impressed with the American soundtrack for the American version though. What you should do is look into something like swap-magic for ps2...

I own the USA version, don't buy it unless your going to get the JAP versions first. The USA versions only consist of some DDR songs. Making the game boring, and it takes forever to unlock songs.

              2. Well, there are two ways you could think of this one. Beatmania IIDX 3rd style up to around 8th style have much easier songs in general than the later styles, but the interface looks a bit old, and the timing of hitting notes seem to be much stricter. On the other hand, Beatmania IIDX 9th Style up to the latest one (14th/GOLD) has newer-looking interfaces, more options/goodies, and a more reasonable timing. However, the songs in general are becoming much harder as the styles have progressed, it seems. Still, there's beginner mode so you could hone your skills first.

              3. Heck yes. 20 bucks with a controller? Go buy it. I bought a Japanese KOC controller for 60 bucks, and even then, the beatmania US package I bought cost around the same price.
9th style is fairly easy as well, if you can get past stuff like one or eight and moon_child, most of the other songs are pretty easy.

STAY AWAY FROM 10TH STYLE IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER. Red is alright but I wouldn't really recommend it until you can pass a lot of level 10 songs (not on the BMUS scale, the Japanese 1-12 scale, which on Red would be rated level 8+) since the difficulty curve in Red is ridiculous after level 5s and 6s.

I started on BMUS in 5 key (beatmania) mode, then moved on to beginner level 7 key (IIDX) mode and just went from there. Expect to get stuck on certain songs and difficulties for awhile.

$20 for the bundle is a RIDICULOUSLY GOOD deal. Considering a normal Japanese controller costs around $50-70+ alone, you're getting a US controller (which is the same thing except the turntable doesn't have the extra edges and the controller just curves around it) and a decent song collection from IIDX 1st style to IIDX 9th style and even some original beatmania songs, which are plenty to hold you off for awhile.

I have a question about the controller... I have the BMUS game & controller but... I found that there is some kind of headphone jack or something but my headphones don't fit... anyone want to help? Here's a pick but you can't really see it, however if you have a BMUS controller you'll find it on yours.

P.S. just a random pic I found... NOT MINE!
