really glad I stuck around to see if there was a melody. I almost passed out by 4 minutes in of boredom. But then it got good.

Everything about this being live is fantastical. If it wasn't live I would've still been impressed but in my opinion it's grossly dragged out either way.

Yeah, I told him to was way too dragged out but he just told me "Meh, that's progressive house..."

im wondering whats the cost of all this equipement .. hehe

It just seems your brother has more experience in this, I was even throwing up my arms at certain points.

I couldn't really believe that creating music could be so inspiring. Your brother just made a track in just 10 minutes and came up with some nice sounds and tunes.

Not to shabby for prog house, though, I don't know the genre very well (to be honest, it all sounds the same to me). It'll be interesting to see what kinds of crazy **** he'll do once he gets his SID box done.

FYI this would make THE single most boring FFR file.

I liked the song for what it was, but it was quite drawn out. and drawn out almost always = bad file.

If you were going to step it, i'd step just single arrows to the melody, and have a file about as hard as Power. Also probably cut it to like 2:00, but that defeats the purpose of the music :/

Like I said, not a very good FFR file pick IMO, but props if you can pull it off

More like Progressive Trance. This is definatly not house in any kind IMO. If you're brother says this is progressive house, then theres a problem. Actually this sounds more like just normal ambiant/dream trance if you wanna get very discrptive, but ya progressive trance is a good start for generalization. If you need help with identifing genras, hit me up. Ive been studying techno for more than 10 years. I know this ****.

OF course djs dance. Have you seen djs live on their set? They almost never just stand like a stiff.

This would make a boring file nevertheless no matter how you cut this.

And that was definitely not Trance.. Sorry. And my brother doesn't need help for identifying genres, thank you very much. But let's not get into "this is this and that is that".

Trance/Progressive House are essentially the same genre, as Trance was evolved from House, as a sort of mix of Techno/House. The genres have had so much blending over the years that there isn't really a tangible line between them. Long intros take a while to get used to, but more often then not you will not be disappointed.
