Actually it doesn't seem like people are whining much about this, which is nice. It's obviously a smart decision and in the long run will help to improve the site via revenue.

I would love to see more tokens like this come up. Sadly, everyone jumped the gun and as a result is giving it a bad rep. I also don't think the token should be removed from the deal. What would be the point? Sure the token is an incentive to buy the album, but it shouldn't be the only reason you buy it.

FFR can't grow unless it has a supply of new music. Where does this music come from? Musicians. So in a way, buy buying the album, you are helping both FFR and the musicians who helped makes this all a reality.

This isn't some get rich quick scheme Synth developed overnight (although that would be awesome). Everyone wants new features, no one (really) wants ads, and no one (really) wants to pay for a subscription. All I ever see from everyone is complaints about new features. Always ways to completely change it, or to benefit only the subscribers.

On the subject of subscribers, I read a few pages back that we should have told the subscribers what we are working on. Why? Why is it that subscribers think they are entitled to know every little secret about the site? You will be told when the time is ready.

I don't want to come off mean or anything, but these are the facts. Complaining that you're a subscriber and should get the token is ludicrous. If we ever release a subscriber only token and you subscribe and don't have it, then you can complain. You are not buying this token. You are buying the album. The token is a gift from us to you for your support.

Well I definitely agree that subscribers are not entitled to know every thing due to paying $3.50 more than regular members. On the other hand, when you make something public, via token, and let all of us speculate what it is, rumors get thrown around. For example, when 7thJosephsign posted the link to purchase the album. The page clearly said to get the token, you would have to pay $7. Which without an explanation makes a lot of people mad. After hearing the explanation, it sounds like a good idea. So, if you make something public, stuff we can see, please give us some information about it so we do not freak out.

That page was not made to be public. It will be public when it is posted by an admin in the forums or mainpage.

I agree.. and I played into it for the first response when I should have. I did however say it wasn't a big deal later on in the thread.

I am going to disagree with Maldon (sorry mal! I still love you!) about keeping subscribers informed. I think we should keep them informed when possible. The whole thing blew up rather quickly over the course of an hour and then went over the top when Josh posted the link. At that point I did my best to explain my feelings and what we were doing when in reality I should have taken the 20 minutes to write that up at the very start.

So, with that being said... I am willing to take the blame for anything gone awry in all of this.

I feel bad for MrMagic5239 because I know he has frustration getting himself heard but MrMagic5239, it's 100x worse being in my shoes trying to make everyone (including myself) happy with a decision. Don't get so heated up over it. We are all talking to try and find the best solution for FFR.

i just want to make sure that its not gonna go crazy and charge me a crazy amount on my phone bill. im always paranoid with anything that involves my phone. i dont want like 200 bucks extra charged every month or something. thats not gonna happen right lol
