Well, it was an idea to toss around for a revenue boost sorta thing. Hell I'd pay it if it only gave us a cool color on our names. I'd pay it just cause. Also, those rates I gave are just random guesses at what they would actually be. But I still think this whole idea of an ELITE subscriber would be good for the site. I think if it really helped enough to where Synth wouldn't be in such a bind, people would follow through with it and understand its implication. But that's just me assuming a communities ideals. Most likely I'm way off.

Technically yes. But it's not enough to help the site to efficient levels. I say make us pay MORE! Haha... if only I was rich, I'd drop an atomic bomb of money onto FFR. This place is too f*ckin' awesome to be seen in a bind.

you could always do what Afro did... buy multiple 1 year subbies at once. Just make sure to cancel the recurring nature of them, or you'd be hit by them all again in a year.

But, yea. Afro is subscribed for the next 9 or 10 years still. <3.

What if we don't want the CD?

I like the idea, and I'd probably go for it if it was something I wanted. In my opinion, the best thing to offer would be something FFR-RELATED. Maybe an FFR keyboard like QuadDamage mentioned.. or heck, I bet people would pay to be included in a jury of sorts to vote on new material (meaning everything, not just new songs) coming into the site.

So, I like the concept... and I'd like to help out. The only thing is, it'd be nice to get something cool in return. I just don't care to buy music I probably won't listen to very much, and 7 bucks for a token, ew.

Mr. Nothing and I were talking about it in another thread but I wanted to suggest this idea via its own thread. Seeing as the current downslide of income for FFR has taken its toll, we propose making an "ELITE" form of subscriber, one notch above the normal subscriber. Also, one feature we mentioned was having special tokens available only to these ELITE subscribers. I'm not positive if this has been mentioned before but I feel it is something to be reviewed in further depth. Making the rates for ELITE subscriptions as such:

1 Month: $5.00
6 Month: $28.00
1 Year: $45.00

Or something along those lines. These are rates I would EASILY pay off for a greater support to the site. Keeping the community alive here is of great importance to me so I would be willing to pay even more if it came to that.

About the tokens, maybe how about you do like: After one month of being in elite subscriber, it goes public for another month? I dunno, but the public should have access to them too.

This could work, but I think it should be longer since you'd be paying a significant amount more for such treaties. I don't know what would be fair but I'd say 3-6 months. This is just me though, that's probably too long. Lol.

Yeah maybe. Or the tokens can be "attainable" for Elite Subscribers, aka your idea, and then they can be given out to public members for very special reasons?

I'm talking branded hardware -- keyboards, speakers, headphones, whatever -- not just T-Shirts. I think a lot people would like to have keyboards that have been verified to be very good for FFR, as not all keyboards, in fact, are. Many keyboards have non-responsive keys, or don't vibrate well, or are TOO sensitive and yield a bunch of boos, etc. Having a good keyboard that does what I tell it to when my fingers say so is grand. Subscription + discount on such hardware would ultimately help out profit margins, otherwise full price for non-subscribers would still compensate for costs anyway.

Besides, you can always sell such hardware with bonus content/tokens/etc... bonuses are always great <3

I like this idea. The question is, will it sell enough and will the profit margins be decent enough for this to work? Enough people have to buy into it, literally. I take it it is very expensive to provide things for sale if not many people buy them.

If FFR needs money, release a 3rd style BETA for subs only until the final version is made. People will subscribe in a heartbeat.

I don't like it. Tokens should be available to anyone and everyone, that shouldn't change. And the subscription levels should, in my opinion, stay the same. Donations to the site are always welcomed and encouraged, so there's no need to bump anything up.

Those are just my thoughts.

This is why I think Dendrite v2 is a total joke. Paying for a token is just absolutely ridiculous.

Some of you aren't realizing the point in this.

FFR needs more income. This is going to get help FFR get more money. The token is a bonus for buying the 7 dollar CD, it's a thank you gift.

Now settle down and go along with it, so this site can get more features.

PS. You're not paying for a token. You're getting it as a gift, for buying a CD.

did you read what synth and everybody said??... ur not paying FOR the tokens... you pay for the album.... the token is just a +...dont like it? dont buy.
