Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
Hehehehehe. Fix the rolls, there was too much of a gap in between them, and that jump stream near the middle is a bit harsh. =/Comment

Just a question. If our files are accepted after fixing and editing, can we release V1's (the original before the edited version).Comment

Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
OK, so wth happened to Ravr, Paranoia and Synius? It might as well be just Zero, debit and myself as judges. In which case, I will stop being lazy and actually judgeWhy would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)Comment

Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
lol here are a few pointers! =3 AJ and possibly the other judges judge the song on doability, stupidity (if it is rejected), if the chart is friendly for all players (unless it perhaps includes a certain technique), it has to be consistent. So modify your chart so other will enjoy it, if the judge says its not good, than thats one person that doesn't like your step chart, which means there is bound to be other that dislike it. I was also thinking of jacks in my chart xP but no one likes jacks! xD This is also suppose to be for your feet. =3 So if you have a certain idea in your mind about a chart put it in, but than change it up some so it looks presentable and fun! ^_^ Dont always include ALL your ideas, there is bound to be some sacrifices you need to make to make it a good chart, but usually ideas can be bounced around and still included with some modifications. =D Hope that helps.Comment

Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
Your opinion is opinion. That doesn't make it fact.
Every song has a way that it CAN be stepped, and they also have ways that they SHOULD be stepped. A lot of the charts that have been sent here are good, but they have problems that they honestly shouldn't have, anywhere from overstepping to really difficult/unnecessary patterns. Files don't get by me easily at all (Ishiki knows this VERYYYY well actually playing ITG at the same machine as me.)--I look for any possible thing that I can find, and critique it. As of late, no file has been 100% perfect, some have been really close, and others have been so far to the point of near-instant rejection. But that's beyond my point. If you can't take the criticism that the judges put out, or you aren't willing to commit to a revision, then don't complain about us being too harsh.lol here are a few pointers! =3 AJ and possibly the other judges judge the song on doability, stupidity (if it is rejected), if the chart is friendly for all players (unless it perhaps includes a certain technique), it has to be consistent. Judges were even rejecting other judge's charts too. I rejected Zero's PitS, he rejected my first version of Fujiyama Panic. It's all about consistency, and if you can fix it, then we will commend you with the acceptance of the file into the pack.Comment

Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
people have different styles of stepping songs. the judges' jobs for this pack not only includes personal opinion on how structured the file should be, but critique so that the file would be fun for the general population, not just for a certain crowd. imo that's one of the most important things.
that being said, my style is a more accurate way of stepping songs, and by this i mean following the song strictly which limits some of my creativity, yet for me it's simply a necessity. Yes I have quite a bit of experience, but not all the files i make turn out to be so great. Same rule applies for anyone, experience simply increases your chances of making a really fun and enjoyable file. It's also very possible someone with hardly any experience makes an excellent file, weather it be pure luck or some creative idea. Life is random right
sorry its 4 am i'm a little weird hehe
I put a bunch of jacks in chimera to make it challenging while following the music, with even a little pitch relevancy which can be hard due to the limitation of your feet. I can hit them no problem, but this is also a chart made to my liking, thus the reason people would complain alot about it.Comment

Re: Ethereal Rising (Pad Pack) Revived
Well, again, that's what I have been looking for. I think some of the files are structured well, but wouldn't have the fun factor in the charts. Just about all of the submitters have made a decent chart that was close to getting accepted, but a small few have kept trying to that it DID get accepted.people have different styles of stepping songs. the judges' jobs for this pack not only includes personal opinion on how structured the file should be, but critique so that the file would be fun for the general population, not just for a certain crowd. imo that's one of the most important things.
And when I judge, I look for both of those things.
You make really good pitch relevancy charts; it works for some songs, but not others. I thought your Anisakis chart was great--it had it's aggressive phases, and its toned down phases, a large chunk of it being pitch relevant.that being said, my style is a more accurate way of stepping songs, and by this i mean following the song strictly which limits some of my creativity, yet for me it's simply a necessity. I'm not going to be the judge of your past files and say that they aren't great, and I will agree with you that experienced steppers are more capable of producing something new, and fresh--something that people won't see coming, and will come to like it.
And a random good file happens once every GREAT while for someone with no experience at all. It happens.
I wasn't really complaining about it, I mean, the jacks are really hard to do, but just about any pattern can be done on pad with a little bit of practice. That's where my judging of the "fun" factor came in. Structure-wise, it's really nicely done, but the amount of jacks, and the difficulty of the song outweigh the fun factor of the song. It turns it into a painful song, where a person would only play to pass it, and that is it. There should be a few songs like that, but I just don't see this one being that type.I put a bunch of jacks in chimera to make it challenging while following the music, with even a little pitch relevancy which can be hard due to the limitation of your feet. . He's been doing this for a while now. Now, my opinion is the fact the judges aren't all that great. >.>;
