Uh Mastodon is hell yes. I don't care if I have to wait another 2 months for RB2. I have freinds with 360's. I wasn't expecting it until 2009 anyway.

Ok, after seeing that songlist, I think I'm going to have to go get this right away. I was kinda putting it off, but those are some ****ing awesome songs.

Also, I haven't read up on this much at all, but does anyone know if they have decided to put in a speedmod so that I can have a faster scroll this time?

I'm actually surprised that Freezepop won't have a song in the game itself (non-DLC) after their awesome and catchy song in RB1 (Brainpower; I still play from time to time).

They're gonna have a bunch of DLC available for free when you buy RB2. So you'll get a mess on the disc, then you can turn around and download a bunch more without any cost at all.

I would be very surprised if Freezepop didn't pop up on either the disc or the free DLC.

Also, is it just me or is the idea of the split strum bar for a bass at odds with the style of the note charts for bass parts? Like, "wow now i can pluck up instead of strum down oh wait i could always do that oh well now i can pluck down 2x as fast oh wait that doesnt have anything to do with bass parts because they never go any faster than quarter notes lul". Would it be beneficial to guitar charts though? I don't pretend to be on the expert level there, so I can't say for certain, but I would think it wouldn't help.

I'm still waiting on news about the for-reals guitar. I really hope they nail it how I've been dreaming of. Plenty of people have mod'd guitars into functioning controllers, but not a one of them has handled the frets the way my dream is. I just want it to be the same as the RB strat, wooden fingerboard/fret buttons, and frets between the buttons. I don't think that would be too hard to manage, even if it's not as easy as just cutting holes in the finger board and shoving GH buttons through them.

I still think the GH1 less talk more rokk is the best Freezepop song and have been waiting for ages to see it on GH2/GH3 DLC or Rockband DLC.

When me and my mate have been playing bass, we really did think how awesome it would be to just upstrum with our index and middle fingers effectively like a real bass. You couldn't do it effectively at all. You could just strum up yea, but it was really extremely hard to do so and you'd miss a lot, especially with triples. It was also very difficult to strum up with your index for one and then strum up with your middle for the next. It was just awkward and didn't work. I found you'd flick up but the big strum bar wouldn't flick down enough before you used your other finger for the next upstrum. And so it wouldn't work well.

With a split strum bar you can assign one finger to each strum bar, you can then start strumming up and down without needing to wait for the bar to come back down.

I think it work extremely well.

No clue if this is sarcasm or a joke, but the first time I played Green Grass and High Tides, I played it on Bass. Watch the guy on the left. There's also Run To The Hills, which has a harder than "quarter notes" chart.

It was sarcasm... I'm more than aware that some songs will have bass parts which are more difficult than what I said. I was just pointing out how absurdly easy most songs are on bass; I seem to recall failing guitar on hard, yet comboing full songs on bass expert.

True. I guess we would love to do it as strumming up and down was more guitar like and not bass like. Maybe we thought it would be cool to make bass seem more fun.

All I know is we thought it would be cool to just finger pick upstrum like a real bass but the guitar made it hard. Then I hear that this madcatz one will have a split strum bar making it a lot easier so I am really pumped about it.
