Re: The FFR Credit Gambling Thread - Whine & Gloat HERE!
Once your credit amount dips below 600k or so, your betting power decreases dramatically and you have to start playing really conservatively (practically never touching anything above 10k). Below 200k or so, you shouldn't touch anything higher than 5k, and if you're less than 100k, you should never touch anything above 1k. Taking on the higher variance in those situations is too much of a risk, because if you lose, you're extremely limited in the kind of bets you can make. Eventually, since the house takes 2% per transaction, your losses will outstrip your winnings, and you end up in the same situation that many have been in (including myself), where you have absolutely no credits left to bet with. Then you're stuck peddling 10's and 50's, and it takes forever to get out of that.
Lump: If I am observing correctly, you're trying to use a cover (and then reverse-temptation) strategy.
BTW: Spamming is technically not in your favor. Well, it *can* be. But it is risky.Last edited by MrRubix; 07-15-2008, 11:22 AM.Comment

Re: The FFR Credit Gambling Thread - Whine & Gloat HERE!
hoochan: I'm still in the hole because of that extraordinarily unlucky streak with high wagers (I went from rank 3 most gained to rank 3 most LOST in a night), but to get from like having 10 credits to a couple hundred thousand, you really really really need to be patient and NEVER bet what you can't afford to lose. It really takes forever. What I did was ask people for "investments" -- people would lend me some money to bet with, and I'd earn profit off that investment, and then return the investment back with a fair degree of interest (and by fair degree I mean absurdly nuts-high). For instance, if someone lent me 30k, I'd try to turn that 30k into 90k, and then give 50k back for a personal profit of 40k. I did this a few times and managed to get back up to speed pretty quickly. You need to have a good strategy though because you don't want to piss off whoever lends to you.
Alternatively, stick with low wagers until you slowly build yourself out. At the rate I was going, playing it safe with low wagers, it would have taken me a week or so to get up a few 100k's.Last edited by MrRubix; 07-15-2008, 11:34 AM.Comment

lump: You do know that if you just spam a whole bunch without covering yourself, you'll end up with less than what you started on average.Comment

Yeah that's essentially what happened to me the other night, with the added insult to injury of only winning the lower wagers, but losing heavily on high wagers. I lost 2.5 million
