Actually, there is.
You wouldn't have been "half-disqualified" if the contest was solely for art. I'm sure some definition of art includes your image, but it's not a coloring. I suppose we are voting for our favorite art, as EnR said, but the half-disqualification of funmonkey's image shows that it's about coloring, too. The other evidence supporting this is that the entry thread is titled "Color this Picture".

Just to say, even if I did find funmonkey's image funny... It would have been better if either the whole smiley was used or if the eyes were extracted from the white background. Looks too unprofessional.

Anyway, Alex's is my favorite art because it is colored the best, even if it isn't a "Which is colored the best?" contest.

My favorite thing to say: choose your words carefully to make it impossible for what you say to be interpreted in an unintended manner.

ok, you are right. I deserve to be half disqualified. That means technically I should only lose half my votes. Well, looks like I am still winning with half of my votes! =)
