The main reason I would get GTA IV would be for the 16 player online free mode. Having 15 other people just doing whatever the hell they want would be wonderful.

The guy who made Vesperia hinted that it might be ported to another console (PS2?).

I bemoan the decision to put the game on the 360 and can really only hope for two things:

1) A port.
2) a huge price cut on the 360 ($200 or cheaper)

Since it's going to be a next-gen game (from what I've heard) and Sony fans have been loyal to the series I'd probably expect it on the PS3. Since Sony has won the Blue-Ray war I'd think that the majority of future Sony games would be put on the PS3.

Then again. People that just bought it for the Blue-Ray player probably won't care about games that don't get major publicity and most RPGs just don't get that. While if you put it on the PS2 it's bound to sell well.

It's already confirmed to be on the 360.

You mean a port would go to the PS3? Unlikely. The reason for a port is to increase sales. The logical step would be to tone down the graphics and throw it onto the PS2.

I uh... I don't think you quite understand the console war here. All Sony games go on the PS3. All Microsoft games go on the 360. All Nintendo games go on the Wii. Third-party developers can choose where they want their game to go and they make this decision based on perceived benefit of releasing it on that console. Namco-Bandai, the guys making Tales of Vesperia, probably chose the 360 because the PS3 is dogging it, even in Japan. Thus, releasing a game on the 360 might yield double the sales. However, releasing it on the PS2 would do much better than double.

And also, it's spelled "Blu-Ray", and most analysts don't think that winning the HD war means much with the standard DVD still going strong.

Finally, Sales numbers for GTA4 indicate 2.5 million copies sold in America on day 1. That's sick.

That is pretty damn crazy. Wonder what the first week numbers will be.

What I meant was that Sony would try to urge the title to be on the PS3 since outside of Blue-ray purposes it's doing pretty bad. Then I started to think to myself and thought, nevermind. The PS2 was made for gaming and would sell much better than if it was on the PS3.

The xbox360 is a great system, i got the elite for about $500 and i'm glad i did! There are amazing games that the ps3 dosent have, xbox live is amazing, and the variety of games is great! Wii is also really good too lol, just wanted to add that in

Look at the post dates between that. I posted that 2 weeks before the press release from Namco. I know now that it's rumored to come out for PS3.

By the way, Namco claims that was a typo and Microsoft claims it's an exclusive on their console. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

A recent list from Namco Bandai revealed that a PlayStation 3 version may also be in the works, but it was later removed - Namco Bandai stated it was a mistake.
