Music is one of my artistic outputs and one of my artistic inputs. I use it as a means of expression, and also as a source of inspiration. I use it to get into certain moods, I use it to pull my mind to places I would not otherwise be able to access.

I don't listen to my music according to my mood. I usually just turn my music on when I want to be on cruise control. If there's nothing else to do, I usually analyze the music I listen to.

By the way, gentlemen, y'all should learn the lyrics to "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story. That song relieves so much stress.

            Music is my life also.

I listen to it if I'm unhappy and also when I am sad.
I find lyrics that say what I am unable to.

My life without music... I am unable to imagine that.

Yes, I am going to need some more information. What is your social security, work hours, sperm count, sexual orientation, and hours of absence from your home?

Music is my entire life. I can't really say that what I listen to depends on what mood I'm in, it's just I listen to such a large variety that it can pick me up or put me down regardless of how I'm feeling. (If that makes any sense)
Most of the time though it really helps me think more clearly and understand myself.

Er, i don't want ya'll under the impression that whatever i listen to changes me, it's just the music that suggests an emotion or amplifies whatever i may be feeling. Like in my story, the album was used to reveal an issue i had buried in the back of my mind, it didn't create one.

Re: How much does music affect you?

As far as composing is concerned...I really don't know. My compositions usually aren't associated with emotion. Then again, my emotions rarely ever go into the extremes for long periods of time. This is probably a combination of my general level-headedness (when I choose to be) and my short attention span.

My music is primarily based off of themes that float through my head. For example, Hell's Foundry (nothing associated with the venue on Mortal Kombat) came to me after sitting on the couch for an hour. From there, I tried to figure out what Hell's Foundry would sound like (and the subsequent escape from it) and how I would incorporate that theme into my music.

My Danse Bacchanale remix was primarily influenced by the arrangement that my marching band played. It was fast-paced, had lots of fury, and power. Although I didn't want to overdo it, I tried to convey the theme of fury and power through my remix.

So, FFR, I must ask: Am I cynical?
