this is not limited to all out war but things like political upheaval are always a result of exploration...

If I am correct, this also occured when we first landed on the moon.
There are always debates (sometimes wars) when something new is discovered/ created. Take computer games, half the world is afraid of them.

To be fair, space is one of those places where it really is "big enough for the two of us."

What with being vasty and infinite and all. The question becomes though is "useful space we can get to that has things worth putting that much expense and effort into obtaining" big enough for the both of us?

Well Mars has a surface area about 60-70% that of Earth. That's really kinda big, even moreso considering it's not covered in oceans. The entire surface is habitable, and that makes a LOT of room for colonists.

yeah . sorry about that, I have an "Australian" education so I don't want to talk about Canadian politics.... I'm likely to slip up.

I mean.... why can't I use Australia as an example, It is perfectly acceptable. Why shouldn't it be used as a voice in this thread?

This thread is about ownership of the moon, as such the only countries to reasonably be talking about are ones with a large-scale space program: United States, Russia, China etc.

Nothing says you can't mention Australia, it was just that like, your post in each of three different threads was all about australia so I mentioned it.

The cosmos adulen't [logically] be divided up equally. There's enough turmoil trying to keep the proportions of earth equal, we need no more of that off this planet.
