There's an old ass 8th-style about 30 minutes from where I live. When I go to that arcade, though, it's normally for the pop'n.

Yeah, I'd rather hit the Pop'n 14 that is 20 minutes down the road than drive an hour and a half for 8th Style.

Okay, I just got Beatmania 11th RED.
I suck at it, but its crazy fun.
Anyone want to give some hand position pointers?

^ whatever feels the most comfortable is the best, idealy though you wanna have 4 fingers on 4 keys and 3 on the other and then scratch when need be with your pinky finger.

EDIT: IIDX red is easily my favorite game in the series for now.. cant wait untill GOLD comes out for the ps2.

there never was a pc version for sale officially, just keyboard mania. theres a couple of flash games and some SM style emulators though, you really should get a controller if you can figure out how to use em though.

Once again, someone will tell you there are no beatmania games for the PC.
There are emulations, but they are technically illegal.

There are also simulations, but some are hard to set up.

I wish I knew if there was a IIDX machine in Canada, around the Toronto area.

If I remember correctly there's Beatmania of some sort in the Playdium in Mississauga.

Flexibility is the key, so in general, don't set one finger to one key all the time. And yes, find something that's most comfortable to you in general.

Oh, and use your thumb. It's really handy. And for the turntable, a lot of people like to use their pinky finger.

I am getting a little more comfortable with my current hand position.
I also *cough* pirated *cough* beatmania IIDX 13th.


PS: I will definitely buy beatmania 14th though.

If I remember correctly there's Beatmania of some sort in the Playdium in Mississauga.

If I remember correctly, it was removed for some apparent reason, and only Guitar Freaks is left in that corner near the DDR/ITG machines.

You act as if torrenting is bad ass, my dad just torrented Saving Private Ryan last night lol.

To the person wanting a copy of IIDX simply download Bitcomet, and google "Beatmania IIDX torrent" and you should find one. It will take a while due to lack of seeds and you will probably need to set a Static IP adress and Port Forward. If you want to know how PM me.

EDIT: I haven't seen that machine since they moved the DDR machines from the back of the place to the little stage.

Live in California, and plays Gold and RED before. (Thought the RED machine had a bit of problems with the controller....)

But I mainly hitting for Pop'n Music. (Played FEVER a long while ago and always have to invade that glitched-up PnM11 machine that is just next to my college! ^^;

(I'm tempted to start a Pop'n thread. :\)
