I completely beg to differ. If two people can find each other and find warmth in their words, not just their arms, then that is perfect. View my Custom Title, I have found the girl of my dreams and we're planning our lives right now. Also, view my random thoughts, I have already defended internet dating. Granted, FFR is not as directly relationship oriented like other web sites (i.e. MySpace, eHarmony, Matchbook) however, it's not impossible. You need to look in the right places. Going into the Garbage Bin and looking to find your soul mate would honestly be the stupidest thing I'd ever heard. However, going to Chit Chat and seeing a few posts where people are a little more humane would be more proactive.

P.S. Go on, flame me. I'm waiting for it.

EDIT: To answer the original question, FFR is not the best web site for getting a relationship, but it's also not the worst. It really just depends on how dedicated to the cause you are.

Using the internet as a gauge for personality is a horrible idea. More often than not, people act completely different on the internet than they do in real life. If I had met my current group of friends on the internet, with maybe two exceptions, I'd probably block them.

Likewise, a few people I've met on the internet and thought were awesome turned out to be no fun at all in reality. I also got really attached to one chick I met from some website that happened to live near me, but when we met in real life, that view was shattered instantly (and I'm not talking about her appearance).

It's obviously not impossible, but it's a waste of time.
