if it's in the game then "together we ride" from fire emblem 6 and 7, if it's not in the game then the main theme is my favorite

I'm going to a Brawl tournament next weekend. One of my friends modded his Wii and order Japanese Brawl. We're going to all record matches!

good videos of 2v2s and 1v1s. Lets you get a feel of the abilities of some characters.

As for the competitive argument. All I know is the competitive settings will be set by the competitive community to be the most balanced and skillful settings. So in the end it doesn't really matter because I get to play the style I love =]

Going to look at and respond to posts in a bit. In the mean time, enjoy the Brawl tournament videos posted on this guy's channel:

There are some really good ones there.

EDIT: On second thought, seeing as how this thread seems to finally be going away from the competitive v casual flame fest that it was, I'll refrain from continuing it unless it starts back up again.

There is some detail about the characters and their moves. Whats good whats bad. Really interesting.

What makes you think anyone would think you're seventeen when you type like you're 10?

                            Please read the rules: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/....php?f=24&a=28

It's nothing personal, but nobody will read your posts unless you type out words properly. It's a huge deterrent to your credibility as well.

And for the first time in this thread, Squeek and I are in 100% agreement.

                              Type things out coherently, please.

Also, Squeek, question. Do you have a MySpace? Because, as a high school junior myself, I can tell you that the average high school junior types very much like Nikfighter, as evidenced by how my friends type through MySpace. It makes me cringe. I can post some examples if you want ;D

Anyway, people are discovering new advanced techs left and right over at SmashBoards. There's the Fox Trot Cancel, the aforementioned RAR, Wing Canceling for Pit, a move involving items and rolling that hasn't settled on a name yet, people still talking about tripping/Ink dropping, it's insane. Of these, it looks like most of them are glitches, but nothing gamebreaking. Fox Trot Canceling (abbreviated FTC, "fetch") seems to me to be the one that will become the new standard technique, like wavedashing/L-canceling for Melee. RAR is going to be comparable to shffling in its importance, I think.

(By the way, that unnamed move about items and rolling works sort of like this: if you throw an item while rolling, your character sort of glides weirdly, throws the item really fast, and moves you forward some. Has the potential to really help the games of characters that can spawn items, like Peach and Link)

And then there's the people giving character impressions, tier discussions, stage ban discussions, all less than a week after the game's release. It's astounding how fast everything is moving, but to be completely honest, I expect that most of it will change completely as time passes and things become more solidified.

Oh, and I just remembered, analog shielding is out. You only have one level shield this time around, and you have to press the shield button all the way in for it to register. That's a bit of a nerf to GC controllers.

After all, Marth ended up high-top tier near the end of Melee, when at the beginning, he wasn't even considered. Fox was similar, iirc. (Also, please no tier arguments, I'm making an observation about how opinion tends to change drastically over time)

Pit looks like hes really really good. Especially for recovery.

Dude from the looks of it all you have to do is chill off of the side of the edge and use your arrows then grab the ledge that ALWAYS sweet spots. Jump off and do it some more...Not to mention a lot of his movies have good priority.
