As much as I liked GHIII, it just seemed like it was a mutated version of what Harmonix intended it to be. Plus, it seemed like there was at least 100 load screens because there were so many bloody designers and what not. On top of that, they altered/removed some of the characters I really liked from the previous games. All the same, the gameplay mechanics did improve...still, I don't think that things will end well for GH unless Harmonix takes them back. That seems unlikely tho...

Guitar Hero 4 is comming at either the beginning of '09 or around next christmas and already the setlist was released on youtube!!!! Some BIG songs on it this time.

Highway Star - Deep Purple (Don' know if it's big but It's one of my favs)

I somehow doubt this to be true. It's way to early for them to be leaking out teasers. I'd say around Christmas of this year expect them to announce a teaser or something.

Yeah those are all higher level songs, they won't announce those until way later, if any songs are released they're gonna be first/second tier crap.

If they want to make a new GH4, they need to add extra features.

GH1 was original itself.
GH2 added hammer-ons and pull-offs, and practice mode. This is why the stepcharts were a lot harder since they are easier to pass.

Now GH3 had online play and new interface, but what about gameplay features? So nothing new there.

The only thing we can add in GH4 is a whammy hold where we can only play a long note if we have to use the whammy bar as we hold the note. This can remove the extra notes that represents those long notes.

That's not news of it. That's Activision saying "hey, this is what we're working on. In case you didn't know, we're a company that lacks originality, so we're just gonna keep making new iterations of all our franchises. Just in case you thought we might go "you know, the public really doesn't like Tony Hawk games anymore". Yeah, too damn bad."

I go to VGDC, Press Start To Play, and even get feedback from all of my friends who say that they love these games. As soon as I get to FFR, however, people suddenly seem to hate them.

On top of that, it atleast seems as if Squeek, Tokzic and others are trying to hide the fact that the majority of the people who have played these games have enjoyed them.

THPS2 took everything THPS had and made things infinitely better. The only way THPS2 could have been better would be if it included the soundtrack and full level list of THPS (only a few levels were playable and required a gameshark just to access... stupid). In addition, there is THPS2x, which DOES have all of the levels from THPS and THPS2 AND it has better graphics than the original version.

In addition, each subsequent game in the line has refined the game. Play one of the current gen THPS games, then immediately pop in THPS or THPS2. You'll **** your pants at how non-smooth it is, especially if you try THPS rather than THPS2. Now, I'm not saying Tony Hawk's American ****land is a better game than Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (nor am I saying that impossibly unrealistic features that serve no purpose but to increase comboing makes the game better either). What I am saying is that if THPS2 were made today, it would play even better, and not just because of better graphics on the new consoles. The game simply plays much smoother now. Seriously, pop in a current gen THPS game and play for like an hour, then immediately pop in THPS. You will **** your pants by how sloppy it feels, even if you remember it feeling really great back when it was new.

Honestly, though, rather than another Tony Hawk game, what I'd like to see is a massive emulation/re-release thing... think like Super Mario All-stars. Then again, they might have a hard time doing a full story mode on it, but I wouldn't mind them dropping it? Arcade style is better anyway.

Oh and by the way: what the **** are you guys doing why is this not locked

It's not that it has sucked since then, it just isn't anything special anymore. To me, it feels more like I'm playing a patched version of the previous game rather than a sequel.
