Re: KeyBoard Ultimix: Now Accepting!
Oh, and also...
SUBMISSIONS WILL CLOSE ON THE 27TH! THIS TIME I MEAN IT! I'LL BE PRETTY BUSY THIS WEEK, SO I REALLY WON'T HAVE TIME TO DO MUCH ON THE COMPUTER ANYWAY! THE RELEASE WILL BE THE 4TH OR 5TH OF NEXT MONTH!
So, you have about a week to submit, and that gives us another week to finish all the graphics and anything else that needs to be done.Comment

Re: KeyBoard Ultimix: Now Accepting!
yeah i got the pw lol i made the e-mail i forgot rofl. also hey corbinek speaks! your file was really cool. the style was pretty weird haven't seen many files like this before. the bpm tricks are sort of like what i like to use (the speed stops) the rest was pretty unexpected good job. I honestly have a hard time believing this is your first file though but if so holy crap o.o
so last few reviews till more come in
(TheChild) Jump Jump Jump - so i decided to go dondon on this file since i had time and i was bored.
measure 1 - Pitch relevancy is wrong right off the bat, jumps aren't going with the main beat percussion
measure 3 - For some reason you stopped stepping the drum beat you were following at the start.
measure 4 - Jumps missing
measure 5 - Starting here there should be jumps to go with the beat (see measure 1) pitch relevancy ignored yet again. This keeps going for ever part with this melody
measure 8 - the 32nd starts after the first 16th not after the first 4th beat. slow the rate down and you should be able to hear this.
measure 13 - Jacks aren't present in the melody. Not only are they non existent but they're not pitch relevant neither. Again slow down the melody and you should hear only 8th beats. Percussion sounds missing throughout the whole section also.
measure 19 - Still don't hear any jacks. And even if you were to keep following them, you didn't at measure 20 when it's the exact same type of melody. Same for measure 21.
measure 21 - after the first 8th note there should be a stream of 16th notes to follow the percussion that continues at 22. At 22 you stop the stream for no reason when the flow keeps going
measure 23 - 16th missing after the 2nd beat
measure 24 - single arrows would've been enough for the melody. Then it would've been easier to put jumps for the percussion. I can't say this enough but pitch relevancy is still at a big zero.
measure 27 - Jacks still don't exist
measure 28 - for this part and the rest with this melody i realize you could put a triple to follow the cymbal crash
measure 32-33 - Jumps don't go with the drums nor the melody. Percussion beat is totally different than just a dumpload of jumpstream.
measure 34 - missed a 16th note after the first 8th note and the 2nd beat
measure 35 - the percussion beat you were following at 34 is ignored here
measure 36 - also every time you follow the drum part here, they're 32nds not 24ths just to let you know. and also the 2nd time you use it in this measure it's a bit early.
measure 40 - the 32nd comes after the first 16th not after the first beat
measure 41-52 - Same mistakes i pointed out at the start
measure 53-56 - Pitch relevancy. They're not the same note don't use the same jumps for a contrasting melody.
anyways that's pretty much everything.
(Trumaestro) Turkish Rave - ok same thing
measure 1 - You were almost doing good on the pitch relevancy. then you sorta drift off.
measure 4 - after the 2nd beat there should be another 16th after the 32nd since the melody has 3 notes, they're not gallops. Same for the other measures
measure 6 - 2nd beat should have a jump
measure 12 - aww you were doing great on pitch relevancy but then you changed your mind =/
measure 17 - they're not 16ths. they're 32nds.
measure 18 - jumps to follow the claps should be used here, same at measure 26
measure 25 - still not 16ths
measure 30 - a jump at least to follow the cymbal on the 2nd beat
measure 34-50 - you could've used jumps to follow the beat for this entire section. Pitch relevancy is, yet again, not respected.
measure 50 - same thing with the jumps following the claps
measure 54 - cymbal on the 2nd beat again should've been followed
measure 58-74 - starting here many jumps are missing to go with the beat, the rest are the same mistakes i pointed out before
measure 74 - PITCH RELEVANCY DEAR GOD.
measure 78 - Jumps. Use dem.
The rest of the song basically has the same errors and another whole section should have 16th gallops. I'd be repeating myself if i kept going
long story short both are rejected. Look at what i said in my review and work your way from there.Comment

Re: KeyBoard Ultimix: Now Accepting!
What I played so far...
Jump Jump Jump (theChild) - You seemed to have put an arrow where you think a note is on one of the reoccurring patterns. Remove those and make the ending more various too.
wicked child (Dashoe) - Apply pitch relevancy through the entire song + jumps felt odd
Turkish Rave (truemastro) - Fix those jumps + song suffers from repetition.
Revontulet (SulferDragon) - A little more layering wouldn't hurt. Some of the notes didn't feel like they went to anything.
U Inside My dim Memory (Kommisar) - contintue with the patterns you had all the way through the song (like the sax part in the middle of the song) as to make it intrestingLast edited by Professor Raine; 01-25-2008, 02:31 PM.
