5. Veteran Respect: There are a lot of members who have been on this site much longer than you. They have earned their respect, and expect to be respected. Just be intelligent and all will be well. Common courtesy is all anyone needs.


Totally disagree with this one.

Respect is subjective; You dont just respect someone because everyone else does.

A well known player/ veteran can still be a jackass. It sounds silly to respect a veteran do to his or her playing ability.

FFR wise you should respect a veterans opinion but then again the community is not neccesiraly centered around FFR anymore.

Veteran: -Says something retarded and totally not funny..-
Newbie: That was totally not funny.
Veteran: STFU YOU ARE A NEWBIE SO THEREFORE YOU MUST LAUGH. RESPECT MUH AUTHORITAH!

Remember, this thread is only pertaining to newbies. The OP is merely pointing out that newbies shouldn't act like they're better than everyone else.

After a certain point, people respect you based on your pesonality/interests/how you post, etc.

I don't respect some people because they annoy me, not because they're newbs, or younger regulars.

I agree with most of the suggestions, except I think that using really difficult language could also be considered a bad thing as half the people reading it probably won't understand what you meant. (not that you find this to be a problem very often)
