Finally got Before I Forget. Went from 314k to 393k. Stupidly big jump because I was never able to do all of the song well in one run. Whatever. Closing in on 3's and 7's, about 10k away from a 5* there. Not even attempting One or Raining Blood yet. Those are still way out there for me.

Raining Blood is really, really making me mad, its my only expert 5 star left before I 5 star all the career songs.

Because a bunch of people have Raining Blood as one of their last songs to 5*:

Practice the mosh section and the part after it. You're not going to get a 5* with your performance at the end of the song, and these two really aren't that bad. You kinda have to nail them.

I have 207K right now, and I can hit most of Mosh 1, its probably mosh 2, or the first verse then.
And my controller broke, the strum bar only responds when you are strumming down, so I am out of GHIII until I can get a new one.

3's and 7's because I just started to play that song, all I need to do is have a run where I don't mess up on easy parts because I've done every part of that song, just not at the same time.

One because I only played it twice, once to fail at the solo my first time playing it, and a second to pass the solo when I got there by saving my sp. My problem is that I can't do the part right before the solo very well. I'm still working on that, hence why I still haven't 5*'d it on hard yet, much less expert.

But, if scores are to say anything, I'm currently sitting at:
                      3's and 7's - before last night, 166k. Now, I'm about 220k. 5* (according to scorehero) = 235k.
                      One (hard) - I'm about 319k. 5* (according to scorehero) = 340k
                      One (expert) - I'm about 281k. 5* (according to scorehero) = 385k
                      Raining Blood - I'm about 166k. 5* (according to scorehero) = 230k

Edit, because I didn't see this earlier.

That's no excuse. I pretty much only strum down.

Good luck 5 starring Raining Blood without strumming up and down.

I can't play without strumming up, there is no possible way I could 5* raining blood while strumming only down.
I cant even get cloes to passing TDWDTG while only strumming down
I can't pass TTFAF with only strumming down.
I can probably only pass about half the setlist only strumming down, and thats without any 5 stars.

for raining blood, as long as you can get the mosh down, and most of it after, your set, and if you wanna get really insane, try to learn to tap the easy parts of the solo, like the red yellow really fast.

                                Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.

Perhaps you guys can help me in this thread, since my issue is more related in function to Guitar Hero than Rock Band.

I plugged my USB guitar from Rock Band into my computer and found that it recognized it and I could use it. So I downloaded Frets on Fire and Guitar Zero. Then I found that I couldn't use my strum bar. All of the other buttons seemed to work, yet it won't let me register the strum bar for use. Now, I know these things can suffer from shoddy strum bars, but mine works fine, and I can even see it being activated if I do the test in the properties of it under Game Controllers in the Control Panel. It seems to be registering as up and down, just like the up and down that appears when I press the dpad buttons on the guitar, but I still can't get anything to work as far as the strum bar is concerned. I ended up testing out Guitar Zero by mapping the strum to the select button and it worked fine aside from the fact that the strum bar was failing me (even though it technically was sending input just fine).

So I decided to get joy2key and set the guitar's strum bar inputs as a keyboard key that would be recognized by Frets on Fire and Guitar Zero. But I can't figure out how to get it to work. And I am at the end of my ropes here.
