Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
Red Steel was a fairly good game. There wen't any avoidable bugs I could see when I played it...it's just when your wii controller goes off the edge of the sensor range you keep turning in that direction no matter what you do until you get back in the range.Comment

Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
Ok I tried, I really did. There is no hope for you what so ever.Because they are good games. Incase you couldnt pick that up 2 posts ago, I was saying most of the games he listed sucked and are not worth buying a system for, not to mention you can expect MANY more amazing games to come out for 360 and just like the gamecube Im sure not MANY more amazing games will be coming out for the Wii. If ssb and the other classic nintendo games were on any other system I would say fk nintendo
But once again, I could say the SAME FUCKING THING about the XBOX games. You really are mentally disabled. Do you understand that your word is nothing more than your opinion, or worse, your friends opinion. Not even yours from what I hear.
Listen to yourself. Seriously. Your calling Squeek bias. You're a fool. He's brought more to this debate than your "No Xbox rules your wrong my friend is right wii sucks i can go play over my mates lol there is no such thing as opinion i am righht you are wrong lol"
You heard. Oh right. Well hear this. There not. Red Steel was a little bit. However, if you've ever aimed with the Bow in Zelda, played Wii Play Shooting games, Call of Duty 3, Far Cry and some other stuff I can't think of right now then you would would know that the aiming is perfect. You couldn't get any better. It's more or less on Par with using a mouse. You point and shoot. It's that easy.Last edited by SethSquall; 11-11-2007, 09:57 AM.Originally posted by TibsI love you, you Welsh ****Comment

Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
You say all these things because you know absolutely nothing about Wii. It's obvious to me now.
Next time you go to your friend's house, ask to play the Wii instead of the 360. Come on, you can play Halo against each other any time.
Here's the kicker: You have to do it without a bias.
You have no right whatsoever to say anything is good or bad without actually using it. I can say that I think the Halo franchise sucks because I've played through the campaigns of the first two and found it very boring. I can say that FPSes belong on PCs because in my experience, the controls have always been much better on a spread-out keyboard than on a cramped controller. I can say I have no reason to get a 360 because I've actually been keeping up with all the games released and expressed interest in a few. Those few games are being ported to PC. Therefore, no need to drop $400 on a console with a 33% failure rate.
I don't even have a big-screen TV, let alone an HDTV. What good would a 360 do for me? My computer monitor outclasses my TV. Obviously, I put more focus on my PC than my television.
See, unlike you, I actually understand that the console I don't want will have games on it that seem interesting. So far, Gears of War has really been the only game. As of last week, I've been able to enjoy that on my PC. I'm hoping Fable 2 sees a PC release, which it probably will, because Fable was an awesome game. Nothing else on the 360 draws my interest. Perfect Dark sucked, Dead Rising is impossible, Saint's Row is a GTA knock-off (and GTA isn't that good either), Bioshock is on PC (but I haven't played it because it looks boring), and that's it. Every other game has been pathetically low in sales. The only other reason for a 360 is the Arcade, which doesn't appeal to me because I own most of the re-releases they're putting out. Including Ikaruga.
Why did I buy Wii? Is it because I'm teh ninteend0 fanboi???!11 Is it because I worship the ground that Miyamoto walks on? No. It's the system with the games. I already have more Wii games than I do PS2 games, and most of them are better than those PS2 games. I really only bought a PS2 because Namco-Bandai refused to release Tales of the Abyss on Gamecube. Oh, and for Katamari. Those are really the only PS2 games worth having. Compare that to the 42 Gamecube games I own. At least half of them were solid games that I played through at least a second time. Nintendo's consoles have a history of having a huge library of solid games (with the exception of n64 which sucked in this aspect). At E3 2006, I saw that Microsoft was just going "lol gears of war / halo 3" and Sony was going "were not interested in gimmicks hey check out our knock-off of the wiimote and this crappy card game gimmick ps BLU RAAYYYYYYY". Then I saw Nintendo's show, which was "hey check out this awesome new toy and all the software we already have lined up for it. ps it'll be about $200 cheaper than the competition. pps it'll come with a free game. ppps that game will be awesome."Last edited by Squeek; 11-11-2007, 10:16 AM.Comment

Squeek: I have looked around and did some research and the wii is not the system for me. I do not like their games, I do not like the controller, I do not like the graphics. I have played a wii and it is fun but I would prefer another system.

Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
Which honestly, isn't going to be a problem much longer Squeek. More PS3 games are on the way making the whole "no library" not as substantial. Remember:
- Lost Planet
- Bioshock
- Gears of War
All have PC ports. Which brings up an interesting rumor that's going on. Apparently, Bioshock is being brought up again to be ported to the PS3. Hmm....

Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
Yeah, I'm probably going to get a PS3 within the next month because I'm a whore for Ratchet and Clank."A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor
My new novel:
Maledictions: The Offering.
Now in Paperback!Comment

Re: What Counsel Should I Get?
oh for crying out loud... most of the games i listed because they're are generally enjoyed, i didn't realise you wanted a list of games you personally think are good, dont give me that metacritic crap either. i'm going by general user reviews and my memory of the games receptions.I said decent. As in "good". Most of those games suck. I wouldn't even consider buying them on PC. BioShock, TOB, and CoD4 are the only three good shooters on the 360. If you're crazy then you include Halo 3 and maybe FEAR.
Half of the games on that list didn't break into the 9/10 range. Some were even 7/10s.
And I don't understand Metacritic. For some reason, all Xbox 360 games are rated higher than Wii games. Like, there are four games in Wii with average scores in the 90s and eight in the 80s, which means everything else is in 70s and below. That strikes me as incredibly odd. Even Wii Sports is down in the 70s.
Edit: Ah, I get it. I should check the user scores to compare to "official reviewer" scores. Wii Sports has a 74 on Metacritic, but the users give it a 90. I think I trust the latter rather than the former.
more opinionated nonsense, people who havent played those games when they first came out can still enjoy them because they are well made, not just because they were inotive for their time. as for goldeneye i didn't say it was the best FPS ever made but i do still enjoy it. thats my opinion and im sure a lot of people share it.I don't understand why everyone still thinks Goldeneye is the greatest shooter ever made. It isn't. It's something I call "nostalgiac arbitrary boosting". Your memories of the game are made better by the fact that you haven't played it in a long time and that other people walk around saying it's the best FPS on a console, ever. Goldeneye was not that great. If someone was shooting you from behind, it would be like two years until you could spin around to find out who it was. RCP-90 was the only good gun and whoever had it pretty much won unless you turned rockets / golden gun on. There was only one fun level to play in Multiplayer and with multiplayer, they blacked out your surrounding area since they couldn't display it all on a crappy processor like the one in the n64, so you couldn't even see that far.
Apply my theory to any game you hear people talk about being better than a modern game. People still say Super Mario Bros. is the greatest platformer ever made. Heck no! It was the most fun to us because it was the first time we ever got to play something like that! Just like Goldeneye. And by the way, Super Mario Bros. 3 was better than the original. I don't know if I can call it the best platformer, but it's certainly up there. The same goes for Super Mario 64. That was a pretty terrible game. We all ogled over it because it was the first time we got to play a real game in real 3D. All other 3D games were terrible compared to this. Reviewers are saying that they're pulling another SMB 1, 2, 3 combo here. SMB 1 was awesome and we all have nostalgia of it. SMB 2 sucked and we all hated it. SMB 3 was even better than SMB. So, boost it up a few years. SM64, for whatever reason, was well-liked. Super Mario Sunshine, for whatever reason, wasn't. (I actually liked Sunshine a lot more than SM64.) Super Mario Galaxy is being called the best of the three.Last edited by toxicninja; 11-12-2007, 08:58 PM.Comment
