    Because that's stupid.

Sliding my fingers over that line on yellow will cause blisters.
    I can't do blue-green, orange-red, or orange-green with three fingers.
I have to move my hand even more, which causes fatigue even faster.

I already 5-starred most of the songs on Medium without any problems. That's why I'm annoyed that Hard is so ridiculously hard.

I use pinky through pointer for the bottom four, and use my pointer to hit the green. It makes things much, much easier. I used to do it your way, but my pink is double jointed and would lock at the top joint, rendering me unable to bend it and hit orange at the right time. I do tend to slide my pointer over to green, but that's better than sliding everything over that stupid bump in yellow. Plus, I play pretty all right. I mean, I'm no GH messiah, but I get by.

That's what I meant by chords two or more notes apart. I use my pinky for them. Sorry, should have said frets. I never have blister problems, but that might be because I don't really slide.

See my last post. All you can do is try to get better and eventually youll be able to five-star some hard songs.

Have I mentioned that I'm amazed you've gotten to just below my skill level in just a couple of days?

You guys try too hard to have a specific position on the fretboard. Just set up in second position at the beginning (RYBO) and go with the flow.

The new hyperspeed levels make me so happy, I can actually read solo stuff on hyperspeed 4 (I'll try to get up to 5 eventually).

On the debate of proper hand positioning, I would suggest just getting used to playing in second position with your index finger on the red fret and only moving back when there is a number of greens in a phrase. That will get you more comfortable with using the orange fret.

**** Raining Blood. I hate that song, but only because I can't beat it yet. I got past that first part that everyone was having trouble with, somehow without star power because I messed up on an easy part. Anyways, Failed soon after because I was too surprised that I passed the first part that I wasn't ready for the next one. I might be able to pass this by the end of the day if I keep working on it.

I can nail the first mosh pretty well, hitting like... 80% of the notes every time, but it's the second mosh that screws me up. Which is terrible, I'm just not very good at fast chords at all. Not at all.

So I decided to play some GHII.
I beat my old Thunderhorse score by a huge amount, new score=180078.

Still, I'm failing Tier 1 songs on hard. This is way, way too freakin' hard. It also feels like my hand is going to break. Human hands were not meant to be held that way.
This happened to me as well, i practiced each song about 4 times, worked hard on getting the hand movement down and now i'm on the last songs of tier 3, but rarely ever 4*ing

I felt the same way on my first day or two, but your hand gets used to it pretty fast.

I was on expert by my second day though 8) 8)

Too bad I don't have GH3 yet. I'm pretty sure like, my mom bought it for me and isn't going to give it to me until Christmas. And since I've already 5 starred everything in GH2 I probably won't be playing much for awhile D: Though, I did get 99% on six and 89% on Jordan. Once I have some harder songs to play I'll dominate this game 8)

And uh, yea, your default hand position should be with your index finger on the red. You will run into terrible problems with streams of notes if you, like me, get used to leaving your index on the green fret.
