That's a huge part of tournament smash. >.>

Except you hide behind shffl'd aerial spam and look for the patterns. Then make your move when you know what your opponent is about to do.

If that's really how you play, you should have no problem without items. Be Peach if you really need the items. lolol

Except that in your play, you're always directly next to your opponent. Unless, of course, one of you hits the other very far away. The goal in your style of play is no matter what, approach your opponent. The goal in my style of play is no matter what, don't run in without a plan and/or a feint.

        Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl

That's mine, too. I just sit at my starting position and wait for them to come to me. Then when they try to attack, my aerial spam cancels out their attack, and they get the hit... or if they are being more patient then me, I'll have to start feinting or just get close without getting too close to get them a little nervous. I use Marth mainly, btw. It's all about the reading their moves, feints, and staying unpredictable.

Some people do get right up next to you and won't back the hell off, and you just gotta deal and figure out how to beat that play style. One of the funnest parts about the tournaments is trying to figure certain things out, like their movement patterns, while keeping yourself unhit and not doing the same thing over again.

          What?!~

I hope you don't run in circles around Hyrule Temple because anyone who does that is annoying.

Are you talking to me? I don't play Hyrule unless it's free for all, and you can't really do the circle then. lol

I don't do any "cheap" tactics, like kite and spam projectiles or anything.

Me? No. I tend to stay on the right side in Hyrule temple. Since it's the highest point it gives me the greatest throwing range.

I'm about 90% accurate hitting any target, moving or not, knowing I'm throwing or not, from the top platform on the right side.

I don't do any of that cheap "hide in the cave" crap either. That's lame. I do bounce items off the cave ceiling and floor when enemies are hiding underneath it, though. I'm not as accurate with this since it requires deflecting off of randomly-angled edges, but I still tend to hit often enough.

i hate the cave part of hyrule temple.... that's why when im playing in a group there i stay at the top and say "i'm not gonna fight you there" if im playing with sheik or marth that place is a disadvantage for me since sheik or marth are light characters they need to stay out of that place if theres a lot of people.

however if i'm playing with samus or mario i'll go there because they are more heavy and some of their attacks are good for 4 player battles battles

lol you said samus and mario are heavy. lol! Sheik is heavier than both. Marth is the same as mario and samus is lighter than all 3 haha.

i mean resistance, sorry i confuse weight with mario kart sometimes XD

sheik can be sent flying with just 80%
marth with just 130% or 150%

and samus and mario i usually hold until 190% or something like that but you have got to admit that sheik doesnt have a lot of resistance, and marth just has a little more

Samus is one of the heaviest characters in the game....she's just a "heavy floaty," making her seem lighter than she actually is...

I think Bowser -> Ganondorf -> Link -> Samus -> DK in terms of the 5 heaviest...if not, it's some combination of those 5. Mario, Marth, and Sheik are all middle of the road when it comes to weight.

Remember, "weight" refers to ability to be sent flying. If you're lighter, you get sent farther from attacks. Falling speed is what "floatiness" refers to: how fast someone descends in the air.

For instance, Samus is quite heavy yet very floaty. Fox isn't really that heavy but is an extremely fast faller.

I've survived upwards of 160 with Falcon against my friend's Peach =P. Playing Jigglypuff has done so much to improve my DI ^^
