Bumping non-stickied threads is a no no and bumping stickied threads with a post that says nothing is a no no.

Maybe if you people stoped caling other people "noobs" they will read the rules and what not. Think of it this way, do on to others as others do on to you...

Re: How To Get Accepted Into The FFR Community

How about if, on my first thread, of my first post... A vet decided to insult me as the first retaliation post to my songs which i posted. This vet claimed my songs were out of sync, yet the download numbers on my songs hadn't risen for the past 2 hours before, and 30 minutes after he posted on my topic.

He simply read an opinion, and used this person's opinion in his stead... then he insulted my entire set of songs... just like it was nothing.

I don't take opinions like that easily, and I insulted this opinion he presented. Then apparently he called his friend with 6,000 posts to come and insult me on his own terms.. yet none of these felt the need to download more than 2 of my songs.

I may be a damn new poster here, but I am a 7 year DDR vet myself. Local tournaments, mastery of the max 300, max unlimited, legend of max, paranoia survivor max oni, and countless other 10 step konami songs... with my feet.

I don't take insults lightly, whether i be a newbie here or not. That kind of a welcome is sure not what I want to hear.

My thread is in my signature.

Did you not read your thread? He later apologized, and gave you advice on setting up your keyboard to possibly hit triples and quads.

Even "his friend with 6000+ posts" complimented your choice in music, and aided in helping you to get accepted into the community by pointing out that you shouldn't "act like everyone needs to get a certain score on whatever file to establish themselves".

In short, you're complaining about something even after the guy apologized to you.

Re: How To Get Accepted Into The FFR Community

Some people will be rash in their opinions because they feel you don't yet deserve the time it takes to download and fairly rate a file. Why this happens is beyond me. Usually though, they help out in the end, which happens to be the case here.

Diablo, defining a vet in term of tangible statistics can be a bit tricky. While being here multiple years and have thousands of posts are characteristics of vets, it is not what defines them. Usually a vet is someone who not only has been around for a while, but has taken an active role in the online community, and has been involved with the site's growing activity.

I'm glad to see this thread still helps some people.

I must say that I am greatly impressed by this guide of yours. Much work must've been inserted into the chest of knowledge treasures.
                        Kudos to you.

This is great! The guide really helps me and others understand what it takes to be accepted in the community. Thank you for posting this.

olol ya dats a grate guid but u sed sumthin abut tiping koherntly....

That actually, doesn't seem like it will be a problem, typing coherently. The previously mentioned tip, and all the others appear to be very well-written and informative. Additionally, to aid with spelling, I would suggest downloading Firefox for it's online spellcheck.
